Another thing you can do with Heavy Sumo Headbutt is jump backward and use a crossup jumping normal to start a combo and punish that garbage. This is what you need to do with Blanka because Heavy and OD Blanka Ball can't be punished consistently with a Drive Impact, but all the other version will get punished by a Drive Impact.

People always have to remember that these special moves are designed to be good and spammable so you shouldn’t expect to completely shut them down all the time. It’s always good to give them a reason to stop doing it so much

I was labbing that blanka ball thing a few days ago. I din't know about air throws. I can tell you regular dp on reaction if it comes far is pretty consistent too. You can even use crouching medium punch cancelled into charged Hk spiral arrow or st.HP, since these moves extend the hitbox past her hurtbox considerably. Nevertheless Cannon Spike is the most reliable answer (sadly not the most rewarding), provided you can react to it. Blanka has another really annoying thing which is backjump into falling ball (while in the air) after cheking you low, which poorly spaced is from -5 to -6, but good spaced can become even safe on block. Something else, the other two normal versions are very punishable with lp hooligan or drive rush into HP. Thanks for the video. Another Cammy main here.

You can jump Manon's level 3 on reaction. It's mainly used as a punish or combo tool. As a Manon player I wish I had Zangief's level 3 but that would be a crime against humanity

8:01 actually as Cammy, you can just heavy backfist Blanka ball after a perfect parry. It will punish heavy ball, which is the farthest and safest, so the others will get punished too. Not sure about ex ball.

To punish Blanka Ball with a Drive Impact, you need to wait for the last moment, like a Perfect Parry. The window is bigger than for Perfect Parry so it is way more consistent. Land a couple of those and your opponent will stop bothering you with that garbage. The only move you cannot punish with a Drive Impact is the Condor Dive.

It might be more lenient than perfect parry but if you mistime then DI Blanka gets a full punish so it’s very high risk compared to parry which is near zero risk

This is also why, particularly as Guile, you want to vary the timing and speed of booms to throw off the timing of these counters. As a general rule I don't throw more than two in a row with the same timing and speed. The first two often gets you a jump anticipating the third which you can flash kick on reaction, no problem. Slow booms are best for the neutral jump option. If they've been seeing a lot of fast booms they'll often land on a slow one by jumping too early. Slow sonic cross is an excellent approach tool. Anticipate a jump and if they try to jump it meet it with j. MP. This will cause a juggle state and can cause them to land on the cross, if they do you can actually get a L or M level 1 or in some cases an EX flash kick. Always be mindful of DI when following a boom as well.

Thanks for this. I HAD NO CLUE ABOUT ZANGIEF'S LVL 3. I thought I could Jump it every time on cast, and I was beginning to think I'm insane or something. There was a situation I literally dashed in to bait it and I knew he was going for it so I held jump and it still connected. I did not know it worked that way, so I appreciate the info.

People are usually not using Sumo Splash in the way you are describing. They are going to use it way further as a get in. If the move is not going to crossup, then just use Drive Impact... it is over...

Worth noting that if you're trying to get an airthrow on a forward advancing move like blanka ball or hondas headbut, it is presumably a bit easier if you are jumping away from them at the time. Because their relative speed towards you is slower so the window of overlap between the airthrow hitbox and his hitbox is longer. It should be less timing intensive to do it during a backward jump, and more during a forward jump.

Headbutt and blanka ball can be DP'd. Just thought I would put it here for folks that have the reactions to do it. If they throw it full screen to 3/4 screen I just dp them like if they jumped.

@@sayahhx8300 I also want to add that Gief level 3 isn't really a threat. The range is short despite the start up and easy to whiff with. It's why you see pros usually going for the level 2 and combo into the air spd or level 1.

Something i like doing against marissa is when they do gladius in blockstring, after the first two punches, press forward and then back. If they do the normal punch, i block but if not and they go for the big punch i can react and throw them

I find the easiest option for buttslam is using strong air to air moves. I found that Cammy's jump MP you can use at an even later time than air throw to punish and you can cancel it into divekick or lvl 2 super. Same goes for characters like Manon with jump MP or Kimberly although those characters already have better anti answers than Cammy so they don't have to.

Honestly, I'm naturally a nightmare to fight, even if I lose. I always captivate the heart of my opponent like Naruto. "No way he's gonna do that again." Is the motto of my adversary and I keep doing it until I DON'T. My top advice is that it's better to mix someone up for 10% three times than it is to do a counter punish for 35%. For better or worse, you have to make your opponent feel mentally exhausted and they will defeat themselves.

For Honda butt slam you can dp from crouching as late as possible to guarantee it to connect. Using OD butt slam as an example, he only has the option to land directly in front or behind cammy, especially if you block the upwards part, so by the time he's going down that should be enough of a reaction window to confirm which side you should be buffering said dp motion from crouching. (I should note that I play on stick so it might be easier for me to perform this.)

Also it's best not to do the full dp motion as that's enough for her to microwalk out of range and cause the dp to whiff and it'll also mean less time to react bc of standing hitbox. DP motion would be the shortcutted 121/323 or a crosscut variation from crouching, not the full traditional 623 dp motion

From crouching its good, I wouldn't recommend doing it while walking around and playing neutral tho you're probably better air throwing or air to airing with jump MP

@@MDToboggan I would actually caution against this as there's a chance of getting clipped anyways despite making the right call (although that might be the sfv ptsd talking). IMO it'd be considered a hard callout for punishing a bad random butt slam in neutral. You can simply crosscut it or dp it on reaction as it goes down or if it's super left field drill it or CA, you can get creative. The way buttslam works in sf5 is pretty much the same here in sf6 aside from a few frames. I'm only pushing this because as people climb up in rank it should become less and less reliable for honda's to spam it and cammy still has one of the best and most reliable dp's to shut it down.

another tip against Guile, if he walks towards you, he is defenseless. Do a spiral arrow at a safe distance

Wouldn't recommend this. As soon as a turtle guile at a medium distance doesn't charge a skill they got their finger glued to drive impact and throw it out as soon as they see a punishable special with it. Ofcourse can still bait it with light spiral arrow if you get the read but if he doesn't drive impact you get either swept or eat a combo.

I don't recommend this at all. Sure you can space it out perfectly so it isn't as punishable but messing that up is a big risk for almost no reward.

Does charge partition work? Or can you store charges? Because if you can do either. Than this advice wont hold up against pro players

I know this is a character specific guide but if you play Chun at all Hizanshu (214+K) is projectile invincible so you can force him to play footsies with you. She has a really good matchup against Guile, imo.

honda main here. a good way many characters can deal with headbutt is using a move they have to lock honda down from doing anything after he headbutts your block. unless you play jamie, kimberly, marisa, chun li, deejay 50% of the time, or zangief, you have a move that can do this. I've labbed this against every character so feel free to ask me what move your character can use to lock him down

@@Akaraien cammy's move for it is stand MK (BUNCH OF NERD SHIT BELOW) something to note though is that the space honda leaves between you and him after headbutt isn't 100% consistent (it's like 95% consistent though probably), so Honda's stand HP will beat your stand MK once in a blue moon due to a slight backwards hurtbox shift that happens with his stand HP, but for the vast majority of blocked headbutts, your stand MK should work. I've only labbed max range headbutt btw, if he headbutts you like point blank or something then you can probably pick a faster shorter move to lock him down with

@@Akaraien your crouch MK gets beaten by stand HP very consistently from what I've tested, pretty sure your stand MK has just a lil more range. your stand HK also gets beaten by stand LP, but I'm willing to bet you've never seen a honda do that after a headbutt lol

with charge characters marisas moves become alot easier. that jump punch move is free damage when youve got down charge

I'm not a hundred percent on what I'm missing but for me Blankas ball is most easily dealt with by simply dp-ing with cammy?I get it about 90% of the time but maybe it's because I'm only plat and I'm focusing more mental energy on that aspect of the match up than others? Either way, seems to be pretty reliable?

could you do a tutorial on how to beat jumping cross ups? its literally my kryptonite and the only thing i feel is driving me mad rn, my anti airs doesn't works cuz it goes to the wrong side and get punished, i cannot chose the side that i want to anti air with the 6321 motion cuz chun li the motion is down down so the game choses the wrong side for me every time, i can always block the cross up i have no problem with that but my opponent are like 99999 frames on advantage on that block so i eventually get mixed up or they straight up repeat the jump right after the block cuz they know i cannot do shiet about it, i feel like veterans are mocking me for not being playing SF since 30 years ago, i cannot air throw them eighter cuz is literally un reacteable and the "anti air" preset of training mode doesn't work for a shiet, im not exaggerating if I told you that i successfully anti air that brain dead bot more than 500 times in a row already and does not give me nothing against a real player im about to unnistall just because of this stupid interaction

Headbutts and Blanka Balls can be DP'd on reaction if your character has a DP. This is riskier against Blanka, because his light ball has next-to-no recovery, so you need to get good at discerning which version is which (the heavier specials have more wind-up).

Dp with air borne invul frames always works against Honda butt. Your timing just sucks. Also you forgot to mention dp is good against headbutt for the same reason

Just use Drive Impact pal... Jesus... Sumo Headbutts are all PUNISHABLE with Drive Impact. Are you guys for real? I never seen so much content creators spreading so much useless garbage strategy for a Fighting video game.
