He was a terrible husband. A truly terrible one particularly with his total obliviousness to everything going on with her. Cause even if it was all in her head, then this is bad enough to require immediate psychological help for her. Sort of related, his flaws were equivalently terrible to her survival instincts, observational skills, and logic. It's almost like she had a subconscious death wish with how she not only made the worst possible defensive choices, but went further into Darwin Award territory by actively choosing to charge into danger. Neither of these things is surprising though. Film makers these days seem to either think the viewers have single digit IQs, and or a limitless suspension of disbelief. But then again, with some of the current real world behaviors and quotes I hear, perhaps they are correct in their assumptions. Addendum: I forgot to mention that movies like this, especially ones with a female protagonist, often make the supporting cast useless to increase tension. And to ramp up the possible rise up and overcome moment if the main character makes it. Again, especially with a woman main character.

Old people in Romania 100% would jumpscare you. Doesn't matter if they are landlords or not, in fact this movie would not have happened in reality. A foreign visitor would have a non stop gaggle of babushka's monitoring her every move. They would actively camp in front of their doors just to hear when she leaves so they can also ambush her in the hallway for conversation and gossip. People that have lived in a communist regime have different interpretations of what boundaries are. If you complained about a stalker to an old lady you're golden, the entire neighborhood would be on high alert with 24/7 babushka window surveillance and repeated visits just to see how you are. Wouldn't even matter if they believed you or not, you've given them a reason to visit and by god are they going to abuse the shit out of it.

I just love horror wives are either hysterical or just let’s things happen and tries to solve it WITHOUT telling any obey and husbands are usually mansplaining garbage who ignore all warning signs until it affects them. All I’ve learned is that in a horror movie, don’t trust your spouse and never be married. Boyfriend and girlfriend seem to have a better chance live in Lights Out where boyfriend with little context got the police.

6:05 😂😂Yes, the owner can sometimes enter the house, even if he is the tenant or not, it is not legal, but many are afraid of being kicked out of the house because they accept this kind of behavior 😂It's sad but that's how you are and the law mostly favors the owner, so....😊

Man. Francis really failed to kill his wife like that. Or he’s just ridiculous stupid, but either works.

Just going to throw this out there, it is 100% illegal to enter someones property without their consent or them being present even if you're the landlord. If it's for repairs you are supposed to book a time with the Tennent where they will be present because obviously an electrician will need to know the location of electric and gas meters and outlets. Also this husband is a negligent douche whom only encouraged the stalker to repeatedly test his wife's and his homes boundaries.

I don't think her getting a gun would've improved her situation because let's face it, being the average stupid horror movie character she is she wouldn't take it with her anyways.

Francis was an asshole, but Julia was braindead the whole movie. Like girl seemed to have 0 sense of danger in actual situations where her life could be in danger.
