I have all A's so far, and am confident i could get A's in physics, Orgo etc. Im 27 and married though, so i know the MD route would be a long one. Still leaning toward MD as of right now! TheCodFather saaaaaaame here lol sounds like we’re in the same path. I’m 24 currently I’ll be 26 when I finish my RN program and start working as an RN. Then I’ll do a RN to BSN which should be done by 27 then I wanted to work until 30(total 4 years) and then go back for grad school . I’ll probably decide by year 2 if I’ll do MD so I can start getting my med school pre reqs out of the way.

@@justtoolit6051 nurses practioners do a lot of physician work as well. If medical schools produced more doctors then Healthcare wouldn't have to find more ways to fix it
@justtoolit60516 жыл бұрын
The problem with producing more Doctors is that the field will become saturated, which is why the acceptance rate is so low (Look at how saturated pharmacy and law are). Keeping the Doctors at a low count gives the profession more prestige and thus having hard working individuals become Doctors. That's how I see it at least.
@tomare64796 жыл бұрын
You cannot do physician work without being a physician. Physician work is physician work, which means it is categorized differently, which has taken into account years of training and true expertise. Healthcare is extremely multifaceted. It does not come down to the simple nonsense you just put out.

@Rooted_Locs4 жыл бұрын
@@Jshowtime02 i know this wasn't addressed to me. but i think you need 1 year of ICU experience (likely in a US hospital-depending on the school) and you need to registered your RN license in the state that you plan on studying for school after acceptance into a nurse anesthetist DNP or masters program. most prgrams are 3 years i believe
@Jshowtime024 жыл бұрын

@@Jshowtime02 I definately want more autonomy in nursing, so Im looking into family NP programs instead. Unless I plan on living in the US (which I definately don't). I don't know if that education of a CRNA would be worth it for me. When I worked at SickKids there was a nurse who graduated from uofTs nurse anesthesia pilot program-I don't think much came out of it except that If you gooogle "nurse anesthesia UHN" you can see that only one other nurse from that cohort program is working as a part of the "anesthesia care team" in one of the downtown Toronto hospitals- they did not specify their roles and responsibilities but I highly doubt they are doing what nurse anesthetist do in the US. I'm also looking into BSN-DNP programs as another way of becoming a nurse practioner (3 years also) because I have no interest in earning a PhD in nursing but I want a terminal degree that is more clinical and less research. If I do the BSN-Dnp it also means I don't have two work those mandatory 2 years before applying to NP school in Canada, the US school allow new graduate nurses to gain working hours/experience while completing the program-save a lot of time. What about you?

DJ it’s not about wanting to be a MD son. It’s about wanting to further themselves within their career. Also CRNAs have the luxury of working nurses hours and also receiving high pay. No need to brag on who is better in the health setting. As we’re all here for the same reason and that is to help the patient, whether we are at the bedside, OR, or PT clinic.
