You’re so amazing! Thanks for sharing this. Also, with this whole detailed process, have you ever thought about going to Medical school? Because it’s so much put into getting into CRNA, I’ve heard you might as well became a Physician. I’d love to hear your thoughts

This is a helpful video! I've tried to transition to the ICU as in OR nurse and it wasn't easy at all, not to mention being in the deep south, the racism that comes along with being a nurse is color in the ICU. It was all to much and I ended up going back to the OR not knowing if I could do it in the south or if I even wanted to waste my time anymore since there's no guarantee that it'll be different somewhere else 😢

Thank you so much for this valuable information. Can you talk about debt for a typical CRNA program? 🤔
@ayanachristie25282 жыл бұрын
I don’t think there should be debt since you would already be a nurse capable of earning ! To find your way through school as opposed to going out there getting loans and so forth…(just my opinion)

@sincerelykayo1450Ай бұрын
You cannot become a CRNA without experience HOWEVER, you can become something similar (Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant) without experience, you will need a bachelors and a few science courses and can only practice in states that recognize them. Pay is similar if not the same for both CRNA & CAA (at least in FL).

Hi, Thanks for doing these videos. I am currently graduating with my BSN from a pass or fail university and it requires a 90% on everything to pass, particularly on assessments and they also have GPA calculations. It's super competitive and our nurses are usually the nurses sought after for hiring. How do you think CRNA schools would feel about my current BSN program? Are they okay with such programs? Are there any CRNA schools not requiring the GRE that you would be able to recommend? Thank you for your time.

Is it a smart choice to get my RN and then go straight to the bachelors program without working as a nurse first. Then after graduating try to get a job in the ICU. The school I’m going to has an RN-BSN program but I’m not sure if I should work as a nurse in between or just till after I’m done with my bachelors.

Is Med surge the same as ICU and NICU?
@blakeknighton21832 жыл бұрын
Nope. I’m getting my foot in the door as a new BSN. My cousin said that the CRNA’s he rubs shoulders with told him to get experience in post surgical ICU’s because they often deal directly with surgeons and other anesthesiologists and the meds they use. I plan on getting an ICU job like that when I move back to AZ.
@lynniezewalker43262 жыл бұрын
@@blakeknighton2183 so what should I apply for ICU or med surge icu?
@blakeknighton21832 жыл бұрын
ICU, if you can. Plan ahead like 2-5 years from now and pick 2-3 schools you want to go too. Each school will be different on what kind of experience they accept. Some might accept nicu and ER while others reject those. Med surg icu is more of a progressive care or step down icu and sometimes isn’t up to par with Crna reqs.

No-you need independent nursing practice experience in the ICU. The more critical care experience you have, the easier it will be for you.
@eddiexhey Жыл бұрын
as long as you're the primary nurse for the patient those hours could count.

Hello. I was just wondering, Is there any offer for scholarships or hospitals sponsoring CRNA programs?
@stealthreporter5122 Жыл бұрын
Not that I know of. That would be rather ridiculous for a degree that will guarantee you at least $200k right out of school. You can pay back school loans pretty easily with that salary.

If you already have a bachelor's degree, don't waste your time with getting a bachelor's in nursing. Get your MSN. There are MSN programs that don't require any sort of prior nursing degree...
@marga26692 жыл бұрын
What is the benefit of that if the end goal is becoming a crna?

So I was told otherwise. I have a bachelors in psychology and I was told I still had to have a BSN to go for an MSN. That’s pretty crappy because I just got approved for my program and I start literally in a couple days.

Hello there. While I understand your motivation behind CRNA school, to encourage people to apply into CRNA without any experience is ridiculous and is borderline very unsafe for patient safety. That is very unprofessional advice to give the general public for applying to CRNA school especially when the schools are becoming even more rigorous then before and will eventually lead to the oversaturation as other healthcare providers. There is a reason why those pertinent crucial ICU nursing years are important since you will be building off that experience. Most CRNA schools will not even look at an applicant who has not even worked at least 1.5 yrs in level II or III ICU (SICU and MICU). Last thing nursing needs is their physician anesthesiologists giving laws more reasons to shit upon nurses and in that case, they would have every reason too.
