Dance has changed my life. I used to be very insecure about my body and what I looked like. But dance helped me overcome it. It taught me to be confident in myself and that nothing can stop me. To anyone who is insecure about body type dance helps over come that and besides it’s so much fun Love Kira ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 Ballet helped me the most

Great video! My history as a dancer is 15-16 years of liturgical dance. I didn't take my first professional dance class till the end of my junior year of college (I only took modern for one semester). Now that I'm a senior in college, I've declared a dance minor and it has me taking ballet, modern, contact improvisation, dance history, and dance production. All this to say: it's never too late to start dancing a learning/perfecting your craft of dance! Just keep moving!

Thank you so much for everything you do. I used to dance, but gave it up for a “real career.” A decade later and some massive student loan debt and I realized dancing is my greatest passion. I picked it back up at 26 and now at 28 I’m halfway decent. I love Urban dance and belly dance the most, but I’m using your videos to learn ballet and jazz because I can see now why they are the foundation of dance. I have hope there’s still a chance for me to become a professional dancer in my 30s and I’m putting in the hours like my life depends on it. I’m so grateful to you and everyone who provides free and low cost tutorials.

I could have more opportunities if i learned to dance so i’m going to a studio this summer and i’m very nervous. I want to take Jazz 1 and Beginner Ballet 1 but also Lyrical/Contemporary. Hi Auti! I’m not sure if you will be seeing this but I came across this video and your channel and I love it. Thank you so much for your help and advice. I have wanted to do dance for so so so long. I took a little ballet class when I was 4 or 5 but that’s it. I explored other sports throughout my childhood like swimming and gymnastics but my dream has always been to dance. I am now 14 and always thought it was to late to start or I would be a lot behind everyone. But I am now realizing that that’s not important. So what if I am not good. You made me realize that as long as I am passionate and I work hard then I can have fun and learn. Thank you so much and I am now looking at different studios. I am so excited to begin this journey. Again thank you so much!!!

Glad I came across your video. When I was a child, I was always on my tippy toes, trying to be a ballerina! Or dancing like Gene Kelly in Singing in the Rain. Growing up in a large family; small rural community, my opportunities to dance were limited: summer nights in the moonlight, German wedding/polka dancing, High school dances. As an adult; 8:54 local clubs (Rock ‘n’ roll, country, disco 🎉😅) and festivals. And always, at Christmas in my home dancing to the Nutcracker ballad. My granddaughter will be nine years old this week and she has expressed to me her desire to dance… all over my living room lol. So to celebrate her birthday, I will share this video with her and we will contact local studios and schedule a drop in class. And, I have located a free expression, dance session for myself. Thanks for the inspiration 😊💃🏻💞

Hey auti, I can't decide between ballet and contemporary. I wanted to start ballet like 4 years ago but I was really insecure about it and I told a friend and she didn't really take it seriously because it didn't seem like my kind of thing. I think I'd really enjoy ballet because of learning technique and achieving goals and when I watch ballet solos I always want to do that too. But on the other hand I would love to express myself through dancing and to let loose which is kind of the opposite to ballet isn't it? I love floor work and your tutorials to contemporary dances. So I don't know. So please help me
@Blessedgurlred4 жыл бұрын
I’m not auti lol but I am a dancer and if you want to do ballet really bad , please go for it, try not to be insecure have confidence in yourself also don’t care about what other people think because they shouldn’t dictate your happiness. If you want to do ballet then do ballet, this is also a favorite dance style of mine. Then maybe after you have done ballet for a bit you can start to do contemporary and see how it goes. Then if you continue to do it later on maybe you can take ballet and contemporary classes in the same week, vise versa just know that it is possible for you to do both and hopefully this helps😊✨

I have no classes or teachers near me so I'm trying to learn hip hop at home since it's not as technical :D I really wish you'll get your splits and convince her. Now just a tip; I used to stretch for my splits and within 28 days with 20 days of stretching (between 15 minutes and an hour) I got my splits. Yay, right? Well, no. One of my legs hamstring got pulled and I lost my splits on that side. The other is still here but the other leg is still not fully healed and it's been 7 weeks or so. So, moral of the story, don't push yourself, take your time, relax, you have time.

I'm 21 and I've wanted to take ballet since I was 4 but I haven't been able to. Sometimes I get really emotional because I love dancing, and my dream for almost two decades has been to eventually go en pointe. I want to dance at a professional level, but I don't want to do it professionally, if that makes sense? It just feels like a part of me is incomplete because I can't express myself through dance the way I've always felt like I needed to. I do other art; I took violin and I'm a pretty good painter and singer but I still feel like something is missing and I know it's never too late to start, but it feels late if that makes sense? It takes years to go en pointe depending on various factors, and as an adult I don't know if I can commit as much as my heart wants too. So yeah, sometimes I feel like sobbing because I feel like there's this major part of myself missing and I don't know how to find it or be it or whatever and I don't know where to start bc broke college kid with zero (0) plans for my future. Balletophile doesn't even begin to cover how much I love it and have dreamed of it and how absolutely emotionally constipated and devastated I periodically feel. Sorry for going off, I just really needed to share this. I don't expect anything from this, but it's been nearly two decades and this had to come out of me at some point, right? Lol

Lyrical also ofcourse means that the song should have lyrics in it which I like very much so lyrical is one of my forte style As for contemporary we have mostly instrumental music and the dance is very strong with fast paced sophisticated moves and laso some acro tricks like aerial walkover and walkovers sio

Hi Ti, I wanted to ask you can I get start dancing and become a dancer if I have low finances and can’t afford a dance class? I’ve seen some people say they learned dance through self taught methods like KZbin videos and friends and just or acting on their own, basically they are self taught and they are successful at dancing and some are also professional and teach other people. I really want to do that both for my health and happiness and to advance in my career. As a little kid and adolescent I have had a lot of instances where people have told me oh you can’t dance because your not professional. However, once I danced at a party as a performance and they audience loved it so much I got money from those people!!! So I think the lesson is not letting people stop you and get to you and not letting a lot of people who say no or tell you you can’t do it to stop you from living your life the best way it is for you…

Hi Auti, you probably won't see this because this video is so old but I just came across your channel and was wondering if you had advice and/or could make a video about starting dance (or starting training again) for adult dancers. I know you said it's never too late but I only danced recreationally growing up and am now getting back in after a 10-12 year break. Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of being a professional ballerina, but never seriously persued for a few different reasons, and now I am 28 and it literally is too late to have a professional career in it (with a company). I do dance other styles though, so keeping my options open. I also am curious about post secondary education in dance. Can you elaborate on that world and if there is an age limit on that? Or do you have any advice? TIA.

Been considering doing theatre at a place that requires dance and voice classes so I want to try Hip Hop but I’m in high school so I’m a bit worried 😅😬

Don’t be worried. I was worried when I started hip hop too, but I went to the first class and I loved it so much and I have been doing it ever since.

Hey, i`ve got a little problem. I've got two hobbies at all. I play a hard instrument and play in a team a ball sport.Well my parents say that i only can dance when i don't play in a team anymore or not that much (i am in two teams).. but I want to get better in the ball sport i do and playing in two teams helps a lot. So what to do??? P.s. thanks for this great video!!!

Heey!! Thanks for making this video! It helped me a lot💛. So I started with ballet with 6 and stopped at 8! I REGRET THIS SO MUCH!! Now I am 17 and I wanna start off again. I can be very flexible if I practice everyday and I am a good dancer (I danced hip hop for several years) but I think that I am to old to do ballet professionally. Is that true??

And I am sort of a late bloomer so I‘m still not over puberty and stuff because I thought that building up your muscles in my age can be very hard:/

I’m not at all flexible but I want to start jazz. Would I be as good as what I am with my other dance classes that I take

In my area isn‘t a dance studio where I can take a class. Do you have a tip for me? (Sorry for my bad English I‘m German)

Hi!! So at my studio it’s 75 dollars a class and it gets cheaper as it adds up, I want to do four. Hip hop, jazz, ballet, and tap. I’ve been obsessed with research and really really want to be a dancer, but it’s 200 dollars a month for four classes. And my dad doesn’t give me an answer to pay for two. My mom is paying for two right now and gives me her full support, but my dad gives my support but doesn’t want to pay for classes. We have the money he just thinks I’m exaggerating that I want to do all four. Do you have any tips on how I can convince him because this is my dream.

So I did ballet back then and many people told me start with ballet again bc it helps a lot with balance and stuff. I am gonna try ballet again but I scared it won’t fit me or something
