i know the headlight alignment machine isnt used during state inspections anymore, does that mean that questions about it on the certification test have been removed?

No there are still questions!! Even more questions now that the machines have been removed from the program. Good morning. I am the retired Sgt from the Maryland State Police that now teaches the Vehicle Inspection Training Classes. The same course "The Vegan Mechanic" attended. There are three (3) test total you have to pass. Two are computer tests given at the Md MVA's, and One test is the Demo test test given by the Trooper at the shop you are employed at. The 2 computer test are given at the same time, and you have three chances to pass those tests. If you fail the tests (dont get at least an 80%) 3 times you must wait 6 months before you can apply to take the test again. If I can help answer anymore questions please let me know. so after you do the written test,where do you go to perform the supervised skills test?,do you have to have an inspection station to let you use there location or does the MSP have a test site?

You must work at a certified state inspection station in order to take the test. You must be able to demonstrate how to use the tools and calibrate them as well.

Yes you can, however you must be employed full time at a Md. Authorized Inspection station to take your Demo Test. You have a six month window to complete that demo test from the date you pass your written tests.
