I have been working on medical equipment for 25+ years now and I find it funny they don't mention the easiest way to get into the field. Join the military. You can have almost all your college requirements met short of general studies and also have work experience during your time.

Hello, I came across your comment and I was wondering if I could pick your brain. What military branch and career did you choose for your experience ?
@jhaas688654 жыл бұрын
kimmy rodriguez I was Air Force and it was called biomedical equipment technician. The only branch that doesn’t have it is the Marines since the Navy does it for them.

Sure this job pays well, but you have to make sure you actually enjoy it. You are working on equipment that could be a life support system for someone’s daughter or an incubator on a friends newborn. Don’t do it for the money because with the high pay comes the high risk.

couple questions , im looking into being a BMET , would getting a certificate from a trade school still lead me to a good salary ? or do I need a bachelor?
@BetterBiomedChannel5 жыл бұрын
@@LevyVisuals A certificate will get you an entry level BMET job. The path to making great money in this career is learn, volunteer, move to another bmet position every 3-5 years and learn some more. $65k -$80k can be achieved with as little as 5-6 years work experience.

Sir I am from a Doctors family. But I am an electronics engineer, completed my Post graduation in VLSI designing but I have tremendous interest in medical- engineering and medical equipments. What degrees or courses do I need to do now? Do I need to do a complete degree course of Biomedical engineering? Or just some proper internship? If internship then from where? Could you guide me please. I am from Nagpur India. And we don't have proper guidance available in India, except for wholesalers and dealers of medical equipments.

@@niddha9764 You should be in BioMedical Technology if you are interested in continuing engineering. The BMET program is strictly repair and preventative maintenance
@phluxuation66083 жыл бұрын
@@jimcrawford3259 The field is very, very specialized. General biomed entry level, for example, is about 44k / year. If you go into imaging, you may get 80k - 200k depending on your specialty. One of my coworkers does x-ray imaging and gets about 85k, while my other coworker works on 24/7 cath labs and gets about 160-200k yearly. Working cath labs can be a literal 24 hour shift though. My coworker got called for an issue right after he ended his shift and had to go back in until 4am and then come back in at 8am for his regular shift.
