How to become a Mortgage Agent in Alberta?

Hello, So my question is if i meet all the eligibility requirement should i first create and pay the fees to RECA and then start preparing for the Mortgage agent exam? or can i finish preparing and after giving the exam i need to pay the fees to RECA?

I came across this video via the blog on how to be a real estate agent. I have a question regarding the education assessment. Since I am from Alberta and did my education outside of Canada, i thought of using IQAS. However as you said in the video they clearly mention that they do not do assessment on the medium of language, also in the website its mentioned that they only ship to the postoffice and not to the exact address. And MyRECA wants it delivered directly. So thank you for pointing out to use ICES. So my concern here is does ICES require all the original certificates and mark lists to be send via courier? I believe IQAS allowed to scan and upload the documents. Can you please let me know on this?

​@@AlbertaRealEstateSchool But this is what I found in their website. "Whether you are applying online or by using our mail-in application, you will need to submit original documents by mail to BCIT." This is what confused me. Is this correct?

@@AlbertaRealEstateSchool So I just applied for the assessment via ICES. When I selected the organization as RECA, the only option available is to courier the original documents to ICES directly. There is no online option to scan and upload the documents.

I already entered Canada with PR from India, which means I already did the WES education assessment and English IELTS test. Do i need to assess education again?

Hello! Looks like you meet those requirements! You can submit your documents, RECA may tell you if something is missing.

@@AlbertaRealEstateSchool Thanks for the reply. On the RECA portal, there is no option to upload documents (education/english eligibility). How they will come to know about my situation? I can only load PR copy, govt id and photo. You mean they will automatically check that i don’t need education assessment and english requirement??

Hello! Thanks for watching! You need to arrange with the third party to send those documents directly to RECA. So contact the service where you did your education assessment and your English exam and make them send it to RECA.
