Senior network engineer, got the position with 8 months of experience. Funny, I went from making $9.00 /hr to 140,000 salary super fast (2 year degree with 8 months experience) Just apply to 100's of jobs and one of them will pick you up. Sound motivated and willing to learn, don't lie in interviews just say you don't know it but I will do the research right after, stuff like that. Make sure you sound friendly, a person who you would want to work with 8 hours a day every day. Then, you'll most likely get the job. One of the companies will be desperate and willing to hire anyone. Then bamm, you got the experience to get engineering jobs in the future. Also, you can make a ton more money then 140k as a network engineer. Some make 250k if you are a beast.

This is motivational. I have 7 months of experience as an NE and I feel like I could be learning more. I want to get into the cloud but I maybe I should get this CCNP and double down with my experience so I can get a SNE role.

I had a desktop support job before the lockdown, but was laid off.. I have my CCNA 200-301 in Houston and the pandemic is making it really difficult to find a network engineering/administrator job.. one job posting had 700 Applicants!! Crazy times!!

Ccna is not enough, as you are working on the opportunity for work look to another technologies that will give you that niche ahead of others.

@@c.mchido571 A lot of places are placing hiring freezes due to uncertain times. Hopefully things get better soon, but keep working on those skills, and also make sure your Resume/CV and interviewing/social skills are top notch. Charisma goes a long way

I feel your pain. I'm also in Houston it's sad to see over 300-400 applicants for help desk jobs advertising 13-15$ an hour. I've had two interviews since covid startedbfor help desk. About to take my ccna next month
@c.mchido5714 жыл бұрын
@@ismaeljrp1 thank you!! my résumé is in good shape though, but I’ve not even gotten a chance for an interview yet, after more than 100 applications for entry level/junior to mid level network engineer/admin.. I’m about to venture straight for CCNP, but I honestly thought with some experience in Desktop support and the most Updated CCNA I would be able to get something after 5 months of constant job hunt..

Jorge - 16:50 which CCNP Data Centre should you go for because there are different versions?

11:00 CCAr is even harder. Personally, I think it's an exclusive elite initiation into the Cisco "Council" superseding the CCIE as THE highest level. Thing is, however - a Catch-22, you don't necessarily need the Cisco Certified Architect? At least not yet. It's too expensive & their process is even as ridiculous, or more so, when the CCIE 1st came into fruition in the 1990s.😅 So shoot🏹🎯 for that CCIE instead for now. _from the 666th😰 like👍🏽_

Hi, now I am network engineer with double ccnp (Ent&SP) and I am moving to cloud network engineer will this give me a senior network position in the coming years ?
@on1onsalt9022 жыл бұрын
Honestly, just apply to senior positions now if you want that to be your career path. Even if you don't meet the requirements, just apply anyway.
