How to become TOP GRADUATE at BMT!

30 years ago, it was called honor grad. The best advice I could give is do what your told and stay off the radar. Also, if you have anyone in your unit with the entitled, rebel attitude you need to straighten that crap up quick, fast and in a hurry. It'll eventually cause everyone grief. Remind them they are not at home anymore, to tow the line and keep any negative high school drama to themselves.

I went to BMT October 2019 and the same was Honor grad, I got it, I don't know if top grad is a different thing now.

Honor grad and top grad are 2 different things. I made honor grad and that's the top 10% of the squadron but top grad is only given to one person who is the best out of everyone (my flights guide-on bearer won). I just graduated a month ago June 8

@@MJ-nd9oy in my specific bmt squadron our thing was “hooyah bulldogs!” But in the Air Force in general the thing they say is “hooah” it’s sort of like a morale thing and that you acknowledge what someone says/agree with it.

I was in a good running for top grad, 97 on pt, 4 demerits on rla, didnt fall anything and was element leader, but I fumbled on the eoc, got a 92, still ended with honor grad tho(for context, the most emphasis is placed on eoc)

BMT no longer does BEAST week and they instead are doing PACER FORGE. I’m not sure what I should expect with this though.

I think they’ve also changed the reporting statements, so they are a little more complicated now.

@@hayleephillips7409 the reporting statement hasn’t changed as far as I know. We are still being taught to use the same one in our D&TF program. UPDATE: I graduated BMT July 2023, you’re expected to give your reporting statement by referring the MTIs by their rank, but after 3rd week of training then you’re expected to give a reporting statement by saying what their actual rank is. So for example, “Technical Sergeant Jones, trainee (last name) reports as ordered”

PT and EOC will be based on you. I would focus on not getting a 341 pulled. And focus on RLA

Went through BMT in 1982. Main goals are to just get through basic, go to tech school and then to duty station. (SAC). That's it just do the best you can.

how is the USAF RESERVE units in CA for you so far? I heard of two programs the STP and the RAP to help with experience when youre back in CA, like when you are back you only have two days out of that month like maybe do some more work, what happened when you came back and also what is your AFSC? How happy were you being back in california? After experiencing texas do you think you realistically can see yourself taking advantage of the ridiculous housing market in tx? Thanks. So backstory enlisted oct2021. I was in the delayed entry program til august 2022 to go to basic and then after I immediately when to tech. I know there might be some afsc that had to wait.

Here's the BMT mindset that never changes. There are thousands who went through BMT. Take it day by day and you will be ok. If you need help with anything don't hesitate to ask a buddy for help. Ohbyea I don't know what it's like today but Basic had some good food. Eat up.

Nobody gets deploy after BMT. Tech school is next to train for the job you sign up for. Most deployments the lowest rank is E3 with a minimum of six months on the job. If your Security Forces you have the greatest opportunity for an early deployment. Good luck!
