It's nice that you want to help singles. However, many singles are hurting deeply. So many like me have waited for years trusting God. The advice is very general. Singles need empathy and more recognition and help inside the church especially. Something is wrong when multiples of women in the church are singles for years and years. Mostly no men are in church. Singles are not prayed for in church or supported. Ultimately, only God can do it for a person. There is so much focus on preserving and healing marriages. Rightly so, but would anyone join singles and really, truly see their heartfelt issues and help them in their struggles? There is deep loneliness for years and weariness waiting for years. Also singles shouldn't be shamed and always telling singles that they shouldn't make marriage an idol. That is so unfair when many singles have waited for years and years and many others waited 2-5 years to get married with much less waiting.

I remember the day I gave up and gave it to God!! I was treated with so much disrespectful from the age of 4, the day I gave God control of my love life. I sit down outside on a sunny day in 2009 I was crying and I started to pray, "God, I am tired. Please help me, help me to be with a man that will love me and not hurt me. God I give you control of my life. Lord, send me a man that you want me to be with?! In your name Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen!" I gave it all to God to send me a husband and a man to treat me the way I should be treated. I met my husband in 2012, we started off as friends because, I was dating his old roommate. Then, the day that my old boy friend kicked me out of my car with my one year old at the police station, told me to fine my way home. I lived 4 hours from my parents house. I called my dad what happened and he dropped everything to come. It was going to be a long wait. So I texted my friend ( now husband) and he was going to drop everything to take me home. I told him that it was fine and my dad was on the way. He waited with me until my dad showed up. From that day, we started dating. He would drive that 4 hours to see me every weekend. Long story short we got married in 2015 and have been married 8 years now. So that day I gave God control, He open my eyes to a great man and husband. ❤

I loved this! I think shifting the focus from “this is the husband/wife I want” to “this is the partner/spouse I want to be” is an amazing shift of perspective. To add to one of the topics you covered- being pressed can look like only focusing on or over emphasizing being in a relationship so much so that you’re willing to date just anybody/someone well under your standards and/or it’s all you talk about. In my waiting season, I don’t want to always talk or focus on my “singleness.”

I loved this conversation Pastors. As a [soon to be] 37 year old single woman, I definitely agree with the "don't be pressed" sentiment. A few years ago, shortly after coming out of a toxic relationship, I met a guy while hanging out with a friend. He seemed nice, but I knew I neither wanted a relationship, nor was I ready for it. I made that known to him, because I'm strongly against wasting people's time in that manner, but did offer friendship, as that is all I had the capacity for. The guy flipped out on me...and that turned me off from even thinking of him as a potential in the future. I think when one doesn't respect your boundaries, it demonstrates desperation, and that is never good. Thank you so much for this. Been following your ministry for about 3 years now and have grown in my walk with God, and I'm very excited about this extension!

I think i will come back when i will have somebody in perspective. For now it's make me feel more single!!! I am in a covenant with God to stay pure before marriage but the struggle is real. I have cut so many things in my live in order not to fall into temptation. I don't like this version of me now. Few months before i was pretty confortable with this singleness. I agree with Tabitha. The word “date” seems to come with expectation versus “hanging out” or “Meeting-up” gives buddy vibes with no romantic expectations. God woke me up on May 23,2023 at midnight and told me I was going to get married in 2024. I am not in a relationship currently and don’t have any prospects. I considered on-line dating, but I feel he is telling me I will meet him at church. I see guys at church that I find attractive. But the frustrating thing is, some of the married guys don’t wear wedding rings. So it makes it more challenging to know which guys are single. I have asked some friends at church, but they don’t know any my age(49). Is also challenging when there is around 1,000 people that go to our church and there are 3 different services. I have a type of guy I find attractive, but I am praying that God guides me to the man He created for me!

I do have a list but it took me several years to develop. The things that are on it are not superficial or frivolous. I have given each item a lot of thought (why do I want this quality? Do I have this quality myself?). I find that it helps me stay intentional when dating and I am much better about discerning people who aren't right for me. For example one item is "honors God and honors me". I had gone out with a guy that was sexually aggressive in his communications with me. Clearly not a guy who was honoring God or me. So he had to go. So I'm a fan of the list as long as it's prepared with intention and serious thought.

Yoooooo me bumping into this is like God telling me ..i God you daughter. I was feeling so down and devastated today because of some disappointment i got from a brother yesterday but deep down i new he was not for me,,,its just that i gues i was trusting me more than God in my Singleness and from nowhere i open the internet and the first video is this.. im amazed by how God indeed loves me. I changed my prayer years ago for my future spouse. I have a book of manifestations/declarations that aligns with what God says a Husband should be. I also pray & work on , what God's word says i should be.#preparation Be strict in principles and flexible on your preferences. God looks at the heart, so should we#Character

I made a list this year, but like a month later, flipped it around and started praying those things on myself. Why would I ask God for someone with qualities I dont realistically have myself? I'd love to be a good number of those things, before my king finally arrives.

Ken and Tabitha first off just the first 10 minutes blessed me. I have asked the Lord for a spouse. I found it ironic when Ken said we don’t make a list stating how we should be when our spouse comes to us because I have! LORD! But I do pray and I feel my prayer is two fold. Lord bless me with a husband that I want to be submitted to, God bless us to be the power couple you desire for us to be, Lord bless our marriage to inspire others to live a life pleasing to You. This is so good. I tend to stay away from things for singles but I felt led to watch this video. He's so right about the list. I mean I do have a list but I don't have any physical descriptions. I told God I didn't care if my husband was short ugly or bald. I just want someone that has enough love to give me like I give love and someone who has patience for me and my children among other things. But when I made my list I did put things that I wanted to be for my husband. I have no problem with submission and I'm a very serving wife I want to treat my husband like a King.

This was really good! I cried so hard when ya'll talk about the club story of meeting. I think I cried so because I closed off my mind in thinking that God works in mysterious ways and places. I was thinking "my meeting" will make sense when sometimes God's ways will shock us and not make sense. So good to hear the truth! I've made this list in 2021. Last year, I found a guy who ''fitted''' in it. Well, some days passed and I realized I was dreaming. I didn't give us enough time to get to know each other. After two months he broke up with me. I know it is a short period but it hurts so much! I had dreams and all my family members who knew him already said he was the one, and we were meant to be together. Now I found this video at the perfect moment. Back to the list. Who am I as a wife? What do I do to my husband? What do I accept and what do I not? I'd written down some of the things he made that I didn't like and things I don't want in a future relationship and thanks to you guys, I deleted it. Selflessness. This is the right meditation at this moment.
