LouMasterFlex3 actually very good. I’ve put a lot of work into my head voice over the last few years, and I’m extremely comfortable in it and use it a lot. Once I built the foundation with my headvoice, the mix voice kind of came along naturally (hence ‘mix voice’, you have to have a well developed chest voice as well as head voice, so you have something to actually mix). It all just takes time and building the muscle memory, but give it enough time and you’ll be able to achieve it

Wow Adam you really know what your talking about my friend, all these years I’ve felt breaking honestly was natural when ascending and even with just certain notes but it’s so taboo in singing no one feels you should do it when in reality it’s very natural and good for the voice as you stated. That’s actually how my belts gained more strength over time. Great stuff, great advice 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾

The only thing I have never seen a vocal coach discuss is what happens when you cross the passagio multiple times. An up scale slide in ascending/descending order easier to master. As a tenor I can sing Chaka Khan's through the fire with power and ease as it sits mid chest then middle of mix in a higher placement. However give me Bruno Mars Grenade and I'm crossing through a lower smaller sounding mix the passagio or the edge 90% of a chest belt if not focused(sounds like a shout). So I've tried the lower volume and then the song sounds like light head mix. Please offer a take on this. I know other singers have to have this problem because as singers we don't always gravitate to songs that are easy to sing. My immediate fix for Gernade is raise the key half step or whole step to adjust an easier transitions. Oddly singing it on the phrase mum mum in the original key my voice finds the right placement and volume. Add the words and its a huge mess. Hope my mess of comments make sense. Love your channel, been following for years. BTW i ask this questions to various channels.

i took speech level singing lessons, bough countless programs and books for the past 12 years and I everything is finally clicking these days... the mix/ full voice/ supported singing - is something that I thought was supposed to be a different event going on when in actuality it's really all just one voice... i think simply it's broken to into two phenomena going on as one increases in pitch and "mixes" 1. resonance is shifting. in order to keep the sound consistent and strong...one has to let the sound move to where it resonates best in that part of his/her individual range. the higher you go...the thinner (more pointed) the sound needs to be in order to keep the volume consistent and the sound resonates in the head. the lower you go...the thicker the sound gets. the sound resonates in the mouth and throat. 2. is the cord closure. this video said it best...there has to be a cry (supported sound) underneath each note in order for the chest musculature to be activated. otherwise the sound...though it may be clean and thin will only go but so far. each of these different parts of the voice all blend to make one instrument. one thing I will say SLS taught that did me huge disservice and set me back for years was to nix the concept of "support" and let it come naturally with cord closure. at least for me...that didn't work and produced this weak unsupported tone that I am now still working to get rid of these days... this video told me im going in the right direction! thanks

Thank you Adam! I've been trying to improve my mixed voice for a while now as I've been confronted with it often and your videos have definitly helped me out with that a lot. As in right now, I'm a Baritone with a comfortable range of D#2 to D4 and I found my mixed that currently goes up to a G4, but especially on the F and the G I feel really unsafe. It just sounds like pure yelling to me and it also hurts my vocal chords a little bit. Is that normal in the beginning of developing a mixed voice? I'm definitly going to look for vocal coaching on improving my mixed, but can you perhaps help me out with my concerns right now? Thanks a lot -Nick

Hi Nick, a good rule of thumb in singing is - "if it hurts... STOP!" If it is hurting that means you are doing it incorrectly and have to find a different approach

@fernandolehmann21134 жыл бұрын
I used have this, try to sing in front of a mirror, what do you notice? If you notice your shoulder going up or your chest area expanding, this might be the issue in loosing the air stream. Use the diaphragm for inhaling and expand your body (like when you are wearing a flotation when swimming as a kid). Hope it helps out ... 😊🙏🏻

Hey Bob, thanks for the comment! Yes there will be a sequel. However, this video does deal with belting nearing the end. It is a step by step guide to build the right coordinations in the voice to start singing high notes with power and at the end of the day isn't that what belting is all about?

Yes, but belting can also include singing notes or lines in songs that require punchy, intense, short power bursts. A video on this would be great.

But when i try some Sirens in Full Voice(!) for example, while i sing through my Bridge, my voice sounds like Vocal Fry. When i go higher, the cords come together again. Is this normal and i must first try this in a lighter voice? If it is wrong, how can i fix this? Best Regards from Germany, Yannick
