Amazing design but I feel like it would be hard to clean a fruit bowl that got a little moldy. Lots of other uses though...

Yes. First thing I thought was how hard that would be to keep clean. Cool, but not a homemaker-first design lol

He may have different equipment though the way to mold wood is by hot water not the tools many tools could achieve this, his method in choice is in my opinion the best for it's easier and saves time but it can be done using different tools. Get creative in thoughts; ✌️

I remember as a child when I lived in the boonies of Mississippi we had the old neighbor that had the old metal trough looking thing. He would basically boil a board for what I would imagine to be hours and then take it clamp it down and bend it to shape to make furniture and other things. I don't know what the longevity is for bending wood that way, let alone in practice would that actually work?
@scottpollock1714
@scottpollock1714 Жыл бұрын
Yep, that's often how wood is shaped, you can see this all over boats, as well as some "kitchen" chairs (just chairs around a table). It's pretty interesting how wood can become malleable like that, infact by then boiling the wood again you can then take it back to it's original form (if you've ever seen the nail "stuck" in the 2x4 trick, this is basically how it's done).

Is that a Japanese saw you're using? I'm just learning and seeing many individuals using this kind of saw looks easy to use. Would you share some insight on brands? I've seen Japanese saws prices from 15 dollars up towards $100 too which is vast in difference so what gives on that?!!!!

German Cabinet-maker here. Japanese saws aren't actually inherently easier to use. The companies selling them just have really good marketing. No matter what saws You end up using it'd be the best use of Your time to have someone who knows their stuff to give You pointers in person or at least watch some good tutorials. Matt Estlea and Paul Sellers are two British Mastercabinetmakers that give great tutorials. Rex Krueger is self taught, but started out as an english teacher, so his teaching style is great. He does great tutorials as well, with a stronger focus on low-budget hand tool work for beginners.

Wood expanded didn't really bend. To actually bend wood you have to add water to the wood. Then heat that water while adding more water so it doesn't dry out. If you add too much water though it will cause the wood to go bad. I have seen people with less tools do a better job.

* In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1) * And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. (Genesis 1:4) * And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7) * Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:3) * For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens. (Psalm 96:5) * For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) * For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. (Romans 1:17) * If children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (Romans 8:17) * For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18) * In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (Ephesians 1:7) * Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:31) * Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD. (Psalm 150:6)
