When do you discuss whether it's worth it? I must have missed that part.

Not alll receivers allow you to reassign outputs, so not all can bi-amp regardless of having spare channels

Could you possibly instruct me how to do the same with my Yamaha RX-A1070 ? Thanks in advance!

@Fluance Audio using the bridge avoids having to use 2 cable pairs for bi-wiring? I say this because finally, the two pairs of cable from the speaker are connected to a single input on the receiver, is that correct? so what is the idea of removing the bridge?
@afapwocky Жыл бұрын
bi-wiring doesn't work if the terminals are connected through the bridge. what would be the point of running 2 pairs of cable if they connect at the end anyway

What's the difference between having The cable come together on the amp rather that just using the Stock high and low bridge on the speakers directly?
@FluanceSpeakers Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. If I understand the question correctly, amplifiers don't typically allow you to bridge the wires like the binding posts on the speakers. You would only need the bridge if you are not bi-amping/bi-wiring.

I have a 7.2 channel receiver (Sony Dh790) And 5.1.4 speakers dolby atoms (klipsch) I have everything hooked up except the height speakers from for of the speakers. Could I Bi - Wire them all?

Only if your receiver says Bi-Amp on the back and in the set up manual.

I have Yamaha HTR5660 with tower Yamaha NS555 running speakers A to highs and speakers B to lows. What if i just split speakers A highs n lows to 1 tower and speakers B highs n lows to other tower? I'm using heavy gauge 6ft wires to each which seem to sound better with more power or volume than when I tried connecting banana plugs, which I removed to use only bare wire again. And i wonder what if i left the bridge on and ran same way using speakers A&B, would that be like using double power?

But using a surround system sends different signals to speakers for surround effects so looks like this is mixed up. I think it works really for a 2.0 stereo.

Some, but not all, receivers allow you to re-allocate outputs. Unfortunately videos like this assume everyone has that style of receiver. I've seen it in a few KZbin videso where the assume everyone has the most expensive receivers with all the fancy features and don't bother making the comment that not all receivers, in fact majority of receivers, do not have this functionallity and make it sound like anyone can do it. It's typical audiophile nut logic of assuming anything without the functionality is not worth having.

Doesn't bi-amping on the same receiver somehow mess with the sounds that are supposed to come from the (nonexistent) rear speakers whose posts we're using for more juice that are now wired to our fronts? That's my curiosity.
@ValNanovsky Жыл бұрын
You need to configure the outputs of your receiver through the menu (this is what this video fails to mention). Not all receivers have options for bi amping - keep that in mind.

Amps which can Bi-Amp will show it printed on the back of the amp and in the setup menu.

How is biwiring supposed to be better?
@markcarrington85652 жыл бұрын
There are three things that make a difference. Firstly, you remove the really nasty plates that link the two sets of binding posts on most bi-wirable speakers. Secondly, you add a second cable which improves the connection between amp and speakers. The third is the one that folks often don’t believe, however, it is a fact. The signals are split between the two pairs of wires. The high frequency connected cable only carries the frequencies that the crossover filter allows and is free from the interference from the bass frequencies. The same is true of the bass wire, however, given the relative current delivery, it’s less likely to be affected anyway. The upshot is a greater level of control of the drivers, delivering a more open, detailed sound.

thx @@markcarrington8565 ya i have 2 pairs cables to/from each tower separated by the high/low and A&B
@zizendorf Жыл бұрын
@@markcarrington8565 Not true - nor accurate. Do some research. Whether bi-wired or not it's the crossover that will separate high and low frequency signals. When the signal leaves the amp it is not separated high/low. There's a lot of information about this waste of speaker cable. However, do get rid of that lousy binding post strap and replace it with decent quality speaker cable.
@schemkesa5 ай бұрын
simply not true, sorry.... allowing driver to be powered separately, resulting in a cleaner sound, will ony be true if it's active bi-amping. So filtering is done before amplifying. In passive b-amping and bi-wiring, no filtering is done and both drivers are still connected to one and another and signal passes the internal crossovers
@bindaredundat-uv6wz Жыл бұрын
HOW DO YOU SET THE LIMIT ON THE HIGHS AND LOWS FOR EACH DRIVER? IF THE POWER IS COMING FROM A SINGLE POLE? TO POWER BOTH DRIVERS? MAKES NO SENSE !! THE REASON FOR BIWIRE IS TO CONTROL EACH DRIVER WITH THE PROPER FREQUENCY!
@R2_D3 Жыл бұрын
I think you mean Bi-Amping, but it doesn't make a difference in your question... The speakers have a High, Mid and a Low-pass filter installed, internally, before each speaker, that can be one for High freq, one for Mid freq, and one for Low freq ( in case of a 3-way speaker).. If you Bi-amp(on one amp, say 7.1channels), you double the amount of power to the speaker, because you're using 2 channels to power one (2 or 3-way)speaker, Front left and Rear left. The High and Mid will be on one channel and the Low on the other.

This video is terrible and honestly a bad lesson and misleading. It really didn't explain what the real purpose or if it's worth it at all. Also it only briefly mentions changing the receivers amp repurpossing which is extremely important as you will get weird signals to you speakers if you don't (the woofer playing main speaker sound and tweeter playing sounds meant for surround speakers as an example) I'm not saying everything is wrong with this video, but if you're going to put information like this out, do better!
