Hi Vanessa!, I just found you a few months ago and I love your videos. You are such a great teacher and I am learning a lot from you. I’m in Ft Lauderdale and I love seeing your land and your garden. Keep up the great work!,🍄

Vanessa- Have watched & loved your tutorials since I first saw you with Jenny Doan. You have a gift not only of sewing/quilting/crafting but also teaching and sharing your valuable knowledge. I have saved this video & try to remember to watch it before I get started on my binding. Before watching you, I always twisted the ends wrong but your method is logical: Keep the last end vertical & place the beginning end perpendicular. Voila! Why do we make it so hard? Thank you. Love the hanging idea too. Unfortunately, I’ve had those strips remove paint when removing my hanging that has been on the wall for years. Guess the strip had an extra strong grip. 🙂 Love you!

Wow Vanessa. I have made several quilts and have always struggled when joining my binding ends. You explained the technique so clearly! Your videos are always so helpful, so detailed, so well filmed, and just a joy to watch. You are truly a gift to us quilters out here! I just want you to know how grateful I am. You are going to be in my gratitude journal tonight!

Fantastic video. I was so happy to see your version of the closure of the binding ends as I have trouble getting those ends twisted in the past. AND I loved learning I could use those poster hangers for my mini quilt that is for the Christmas season! Fantastic!!! You are a great teacher and I hope to follow you.

Very well done. Many thanks! The wall hanging I'm working on isn't worth the time to put on a binding, so I will back it and hang it. However, I will use both your binding technique and your hanging technique in the future. The hanging technique is particularity useful for those of us living in homes with the interiors swathed in shiplap because we don't put holes in the walls.

i am so happy to learn this way. I always get it confused when I use the binding too and have to spend so much time and anxiety to get it done. This is so much simpler , I love it. I love Vanessa and her detailed descriptions

I loved this video !!! You covered all areas of putting together a mini quilt along with the binding the ends together. I like your process much better than all the video's I have seen. I also like the hanging of the mini quilt. I will keep this video for my go to when I forget on how to finish off my projects. Great job Vanessa !!

Thank you Vanessa. I love Command strips I never use anything else. The rest fall off. I live in a small studios apartment probably the size of your studio and I have so many things on the walls I don't know how many strips I've used but I do know they are not going to fall off. I haven't watch a video of yours in over a year. It was nice and still as good as always. You are glowing. Loved when you said, you've 'been doing this so long you can eyeball it'. I've been following you almost as long.

When you hang a bigger quilt with the velcro command strips, do you use the cardboard tabs also? Thanks
@TheCraftyGemini6 жыл бұрын
Yes. You need something stiff to stick the command strip too. It doesn’t work to try to stick it directly to the fabric.

Just be careful with the command strips. If you leave em for over 6 months they do RIP your paint. My sister had them up in the kids' closet for years and when we went to take em off they wouldn't come down. When we finally got them off the wall looked like a wreck
