Thank you!! Following the evohone manual I couldn't get this to work properly at all, your clear video helped me do it in under a minute. Honeywell could learn a lot from you.

Great video, and still useful 7 years on thanks to poor Honeywell documentation. Thanks!

Note that the BDR91's should be mounted 30cm apart for best performance. In this installation all the elements are located within a couple of meters and it works fine, but that will probably not be the case in other situations. Thanks for getting back so quickly!! That was such a quick fix🙆fantastic ❗️❗️thanks for your help. Maybe it's me,but I didn't think it was made very clear in the manual.

Great simple video. How do you reinstall a BDR91 to control a Hot water cylinder as mine was disconnected when the system updated

Hi I have the Honeywell Evohome control system at home and I want to replace my existing kitchen rad which has the HR91 TRV head, with a Myson Kickspace plinth heater. Do you have experience of doing this and can you advise which Honeywell controls I’d need, so I am able to control the kitchen heating zone via the Evohome app. TIA

Hi, I have a BRD91 controlling a zone valve and i have individual TRVs on each radiator. Do I need to bind both the radiator valve and the BRD91 to each room (zone)? Thanks.

The bdr91 can be setup to control the boiler by activating the valve. It will open the valve if any heating is required in any zone. As far as I know (it’s a long time since I made this video) you can’t have a bdr91 that controls a subset of trvs. The system is / was designed to have trvs installed on every radiator.

Hi I hope you can help, I’ve followed this procedure and rebound my evo home controller to the receiver unit and the system is working ok. However I am still getting a slow flashing red light (3 secs on 3 secs off) which indicates it is trying to find a second bound device (which I don’t have). I thought that this procedure would have cleared any previous bindings so a bit lost as to why this keeps flashing. Many thanks!

Hi, nice and simple video. Would you know how to bind to a tree port valve on a Y plan system, heating side? Boiler/ hot water side seems to work fine, can't seem to get the heating side to flow.
@techydiy
@techydiy 8 жыл бұрын
+Steven G For Y PLAN - assuming you have the hot water kit and have bound the hot water sensor & hot water bdr91, then in the configuration menu / system devices / sundial valves - stored hot water then you have a Heating valve binding menu - this is where you bind your heating bdr91. Dont use boiler relay. Also make sure to reset the bdr91 as they come pre-bound as the boiler relay in the the base kit. It's not much use on this subject but the Honeywell trainign course can help sometimes: youlearn.honeywelluk.com/ Let me know how you get on. Thanks N

Hi, I have a heating system with 3 motorised zone valves, I have one BDR for the Boiler and one BDR for each of the Zone valves . In one of the zones I have installed 6 x HR92 valves, how do these valves open the zone valve?
@techydiy
@techydiy 2 жыл бұрын
Unless anything has changed in the years since I last looked at it, you cant have a hierarchical zone system. If you have a full set of hr92s in that one zone, then just remove the zone valve or lock it open, as it not needed.

Hi, I wonder if you could help me; I am not sure which evohome components I need, I gave a biomas boiler with 2 storage tanks, I would like the system to stop when all the TRVs have enough heat; I bought the main unit, TRVs and have one BDR91 unit; do I need anything more ?

Sounds like you have the correct components but I suggest that you follow the Honeywell Evohome installer online training course: youlearn.honeywelluk.com/course/evohome

You supposed to have 300mm distance between BDR91s so they won't clash with each other.

I don’t follow this. The title says binding to controller but isn’t this just binding directly from relay to trv? And doing this, aren’t you then forcing yourself to bind to every valve in your home? I thought the idea was to bind to the main controller once and the bind each valve/trv to the main controller?
@techydiy
@techydiy 5 жыл бұрын
Nope, this system doesn't use HR92 valves for individual radiators. The BDR91 controls a V4043 zone valve, which controls heat on a particular zone with several radiators. There are several V4043 zone valves and BDR91 relays each controlling separate zones. So for example: one controller, four thermostats, four BDR91 relays, four V4043 valves, four zones each with several radiators. The BDR91 can also be configured to "call for heat". This is when it signals to the boiler to turn on whenever heat is required. You would probably use this when you are using the HR92 radiator valves. The evohome system is relatively flexible and you can use it in multiple ways.

hi myself and my family have bought and moved in to the house and our heating system has a wireless center brand thermostat but I cannot get it to work upon inspection around boiler I found a unit that's exactly the same as the one your pressing here but it's on the floor inn2 half's no wires just not connected not used. but I also cannot find the one sat next to yours on the left of the one you are using in the video. is the no connection of this box the reason my.wirless stay does not work? or do I need to find where the one on the left is in this house. the center wireless stat wsit on on when moved in so they must have been using it. I also have trvs on most of the rads here anyhelp would be great as I have 2 newborns in the house and need to keep on top of house temp better than switching boiler on and off ty in advance. mferris8@live.com
