Thanks here from South Africa for another useful video you guys rock. I am reconditioning a Ford EcoSport 1.0l turbo motor, so this is useful before I start the motor.

Nice video👍. One thing i like in this video is the fact that you catch the coolant coming out of the bleeder port with a bottle to put back into the reservoir; coz others just waste it on the floor.

My Fiesta 2018 doesn't even start and the coolant just bubbles when I try to, and I noticed some water leaked into the engine oil, which the mechanic says is not through the gasket as the temperature doesn't rise more than normal. Idk what to do, I've applied a Sealant to fix any cracks, it is still the same

Does this work on fiesta mk7 2010, I can never find any information on my car. Got quoted £550 to fix my coolant, ik I just need to bleed it and get a new expansion tank but I want to do it right! Everything I’ve done to my car I’ve just hoped and preyed 😭😭😭

Take the cap off the degas bottle, remove the lower radiator hose and while it’s draining, remove that little screw on the top of the radiator so the coolant comes out nice n easy

Probably a dumb question, but how would i drain the system completely? Like the coolant from the inside of the engine as well. Ford switched the coolant recommended from the red to a yellow based coolant now. So i just want to completely get out the old coolant out so i dont have mixed coolant. Thanks for anyone's advice on this
@ProJanitor2 жыл бұрын
The new yellow coolant is compatible with the discontinued orange coolant, so you don’t need to completely flush it out. I personally liked the idea of having the system contain 100% yellow coolant, so I did two drain and fills in the span of one month. It’s really not an issue if some of the old orange coolant remains in circulation; there was a technical bulletin released by Ford concerning your exact question.

Hello really good video. Do we need to turn on the AC aircondition on full, or no? Thanks.
@devilmonkey3 жыл бұрын
No, ac has nothing to do with the engine's cooling system. As he said in the video, turn on the heater so coolant flows through those pipes and removes any trapped air

Having the heater blower on just makes it slower to heat up. It does nothing to help bleed the system.
@mnl493x3 жыл бұрын
The point of turning the heaters on is so that the coolant can fill the heater matrix and also remove any trapped air that maybe there. Not turning the blowers. Heaters on hot. Fully can still leave an air block.
@devilmonkey3 жыл бұрын
Yeah pretty standard on any car to turn on the heater to remove any air in the heater core
@fredflintstone20773 жыл бұрын
@@mnl493x Heater hot, yes, blowers on ? Pointless and as I said, takes longer to heat engine and get thermostat open.
@mnl493x3 жыл бұрын
@@fredflintstone2077 so your saying it’s pointless too have heaters on full blast on hot. Because it takes longer too warm up? I’d rather wait a bit longer for it too warm up and make sure there’s no air trapped in the heater matrix. 🤦♂️I give up. Fab vid but you do it your way were car warms up quicker yeh🙄
@fredflintstone20773 жыл бұрын
@@mnl493x The blower makes zero difference so what is the point? It is totally illogical. Maybe you need to better understand how a heater works. The coolant is heated by the engine and circulates around the cooling system. A heater matrix, which is like a small radiator, is included in this circuit. There is different types of system and valves, some bypass the water flow away from the heater matrix, other have a flap that covers it. As long as the heater control is set to hot, water flows through the heater matrix. Putting the blower on simply blows heat from the heater matrix into the car. The more heat it blows, the longer it takes for the engine thermostat to open and for the system to bleed. Having the blower on is actually counter productive.
