Hi@@JaboTheMechanic, just a quick update, I tried bleeding the lifters on my SR but while doing it discovered 3 of them where in bad shape so decided to go with new ones, after following your video everything went well and now there is no more lifter noises 😁

What causes the lifters to go bad? Is it a cranking issue or …?

When I took out the cam shaft it popped out and it did not lye flat when putting it back in. It went flat as I began to tighten the clamps. Could the cam shaft warp?

Ok question. Is oil supposed to be flowing from the valve springs?. I followed the video and bled the lifters. When I first switch on no noise but when it gets hot I hear noise. It sounds like a rocker slapping.

Another thing, when I took out the lifters, all were hard but some almost had no oil.

I hope you torqued the camshafts in instead of jamming them in with the impact seems like ur rotating the crank with massive force

Hey question could the oil density have something to do with the lifters because I use 10w-20w oil in my car someone was suggesting to use thicker oil in the engine to get rid of the noise

That’s not how you time up tdc on the cams

Use the fsm, it tells you how to correctly do it. Can’t just rely on 10 o’clock, 12 o’clock. The fsm tells you exactly how much teeth from the rocker deck to the tdc marks
