Hey guys, in this video we are going to show you how to bleed the cooling system on Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum, Chrysler 300 with the 3.5 engines. The 2.7 and the 5.7 might be similar but we have not had a chance to check it out. If you drain the coolant antifreeze you will need to bleed the cooling system right or you might overheat the engine, which could be very expensive repair.

thanks this was very informative because i had my coolant reservoir changed and the person who did it did not bleed the line so of course i over heated but was lucky i did not kill my engine and if the coolant was fixed

Yup , thanks for the info. Stumbled on this before I was gonna drain and refill my coolant and glad I did. Didn't have a hose but just put a couple towels in there and it soaked it up. (Had no choice) but worked and ready for fuel filter/pump replacement if it's on your channel, thanks

So I had a bad ECU in my dodge charger Daytona 2007 5.7 hemi I got it changed at the shop and then my check engine light came on same day. When my ECU went out so did my alternator which is what caused the bad ECU so I changed the alternator and had to drain the coolant then the shop changed my ECU and the engine light came on. They said it was the coolant sensor and oil pressure sensor. Which no light was on before the ECU went out. Do you know what could cause those codes ?

Very good lesson. I have a 2007 Magnum SXT with 52K miles. It does not get driven much as you can see. The age factor here so good idea to change put the coolant. The OEM coolant from 2007 is red. I'm using Zerex coolant which indicates it is recommended by Chrystler for my 2007 Magnum Sxt. Different color. Does coolant color matter? Thank You Dean Seattle, WA

The Zerex G05 is a coolant suitable for your car. Color doesn't matter but the chemistry does. HOAT type. The OEM coolant is basically Zerex G05 but dyed Red-Orange.

Interesting fact,Diamler bought Chrysler in 2002,the owner of Mercedes also used G-05 coolant which is dyed light yellow. To differentiate Mercedes Benz from Chrysler brands,they decided to dye the coolant red-orange.

Can u guys answer this question. I have 06 dodge charger 3.5 v6 Now got code P1004 short runner valve. I'm told Chrysler discontinue & wants $2,252 for(No Way I'll Pay that) the upper plenum manifold I would need to upgrade to 07 upper plenum manifold with runner valve that has 4 bolts nuts n comes with harness that goes from one end a 2 wire to the end a 5 wire this this comes with it. How do I get this 07 upper plenum manifold and can I get a after market manifold but still going to need a short runner valve (2 of them). Can u guys direct me to a site where I can get it for less & can I upgrade the plenum manifold I have just by buying the 2 wire to 5 wire Harness n both runner valves would this be consider a upgrade n keep my manifold I have now. I'm no mechanic just a basic tune up oil change and brake up keep auto guy not enough knowledge. Also can u make a video on this upgrade so I may try install myself. So for a Dodge charger 2007 is the antifreeze supposed to be red/orange color or is it a purple or pink I called different dealers and said different colors for the antifreeze

Depends on the coolant brand some brands comply to match other brands color or the OEM factory dealer color. While some coolant brand's just have different colors and don't match the factory color, even if they say for your car. As long as it's the right formula then color won't matter. Just use one brand of possible and stick to it.

There's something clogging your hoses somewhere that wont allow the antifreeze to flow properly, what I did was squeeze the hose that's connected to the radiator (the one with the two fans, not the tank) a LOT of times until I started feeling the hot antifreeze flow through the hose. It helps to flush out your radiator with distilled water beforehand to help push out whatever's in the way

You probably got air getting onto your exhaust/ engine possibly bad gasket or getting in elsewhere with mine when I had someone pull my manifold to change my EGR valve and spark plugs they didn't connect the metal fitting good enough that connects the EGR to the engine block in the back I had air getting in causing air pockets
