FYI the Mazda3 has a cross-split brake system(ABS cars for sure, non ABS I'm not 100% on)... that means the LF and RR are on the same circuit, and RF and LR on their own circuit. You must bleed in the order RR, LF, LR, RF. If you only bleed the fronts, or only rears, you still have air in all of your lines.

IF you get a one-man bleeder kit you don't need to keep opening and closing the valve. Just make sure the bled/discharged fluid container is higher than the caliper. Then open the valve, go inside and pump brakes, come out and inspect the hose for bubbles until there are none. Then close the vavle.

Hi, thanks for posting this. I have had a heck of a time with my breaks lately. It started around the same time my right motor mount and axle got busted and went neglected for a while before being replaced, so the ride, breaking and handling of the car was really bad until I replaced the struts, motor mount and axle and bled the breaks at once. Everything went back to normal however, the breaks have been problematic since then and the problem is this: The breaks are loose. The pedal goes almost all the way down before the car begins to slow and it takes a longer time to stop. In addition, there is a faint "whistle" like sound, that comes from the engine compartment when the pedal is released. I've bled it several times and replaced the master cylinder. The mechanic insists the ABS and the booster are fine and operating as they should. He also cleaned and lubricated the pedal. The pads have plenty of meat and the disks are smooth but the problem still exists. It gets really scary if I have to stop quick in an emergency. Anyone got a clue or had this problem?

That's definitely a master cylinder issues. I also replaced mine but still having the same whistling sound and brake pedal almost reaching the floor. Could be a defective master cylinder. I will be replacing my master cylinder again next week and see if the issue is resolved.

I'm doing a 2010 Mazda 3 now. Mazda is cross fit so the first tire should be the rear driver, then do the front passenger, rear passenger and finish with front driver. Generally Mazda is 9mm for the front and 10mm in the rear. Does change from model to model. The foxwell NT630 Plus has an auto bleed function for the car and a way to bleed the ABS.

Quick tip for you , you should always keep some brake fluid in the bowl/Pan/whatever you want to , when you press the brake , it get it out , when you release it might take some air so you will still have the same problem! Just a trick to make sure you haven't did it for no results :P good vid tho

Hey, I've got the same Mazda. How do you see in this particular reservoir the exact level of fluid? I'm always unsure whether it's the correct level even if using a flashlight. The shape of it is just awful.

after a while fluid brakes down and its good to switch the fluid out for better braking and to keep the lines fresh. im doing it after 100km's and man my braking feels nice and smooth once again

It won't let me post the link. but go to Mazda 3 Forums dot com, go to the suspension/brakes subforum, then the "FAQ" section of that forum, I have a writeup on bleeding the cross split brake system and why it is important to use the correct order.

Can i asked why you did the front first? A few other videos I have watched say to do the back first, I really dont know, so I am asking.
@ghostlyrich
@ghostlyrich 4 жыл бұрын
Some people do back first because it's the farthest part of the system and then work there way to the front. You can do it either way you would like I did front to back an worked just fine

The procedure is correct, but you have to start bleeding from rear right wheel (the farthest wheel from master cylinder). That is the rule - rear right - rear left - front right - front left. Another sequence will newer give you push air out from brake system.

Not for the Mazda 3. Those who seem most knowledgeable in this model say this is the correct order: (2)LF - RF(4) |xxxxxxx| |xxxxxxx| |xxxxxxx| |xxxxxxx| (3)LR---RR(1) www.mazda3forums.com/110-suspension-brakes-technical-information-faqs-how-tos/394323-how-how-you-really-supposed-bleed-brakes-your-mazda3.html
