I have L, M and XL in grey and white although XL grey have sold out already. I would like to do some teaching but I know I would miss having my own shop too much. Its something I may look in to though, my family has loads of teachers in it so I guess it comes easily for me.

If this is the same pearl white that's on my friends dad's 2014 WRX then the white looks so sexy in person, especially with the gloss black roof to break it up. Watching that rear bumper being painted with the first coat of white was so satisfying haha. Great video as always mate!
@TheGunmanChannel10 жыл бұрын
Yep it would be the same colour they have been using Satin White Pearl for a few years now and yeah it looks so good especially in the sun.

If one had to do just one panel, will the pearl with the new clear coat match the original paint on the rest of the panel?
@HankScott10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing all this great info, I have enjoyed watching your videos! When you show the finished, reassembled car shots at the end of the videos, have the cars been color sanded and buffed out or doesn't the shop where you are working do that? Just wondering if the final product is good enough after you shoot it that it doesn't need to be color sanded for a show quality finish (or a finish acceptable to the customer, matching the OEM paint). I could imagine in a production repair shop they might not find that extra step profitable plus it takes more time for the paint to fully cure before the car can be color sanded, buffed, and then returned to the customer. Just curious as the jobs you are doing look really great as-is with the final clear coats! Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your experience!

With the wetbed, it doesn't really matter when you put it down does it? seems its all personal preference. I've heard some painters put it down right over primer... from what I'm understanding its mostly so the metallics dont fall into the sand scratches?
@TheGunmanChannel10 жыл бұрын
Yep thats right mate, some people have totally different methods and it does work, I used to do it that way too but found for me I get better results doing it my way.

Toyota bumpers seem like they get the most dust.in your shop would you of just painted the whole side of the car or blend the other quarter?
@TheGunmanChannel10 жыл бұрын
Its hard to say Mike, if the color took more than 20 min then yep I'd just blend it. But I'd quote for it in the first place if they would allow for it, then definitely do it.

Well I haven't done a triple stage yet so I found this video and sure enough we the same car and the same color must be a problem with that paint. I'm just spraying the piece on the rear that holds the ford logo I fixed a small dent primed it and had a hard time feathering it in I should have know though that right when I spray my second coat of base it bubbles up with a reaction so my small blend spot is now much bigger

Hey buddy. Old vid i know but i watch the vids two/three/four times. You always see things second time around. The (static) issues on the top rail. It looked similar to wax grease remover residue? Your thoughts?

Hi..mate did I get right? R u spraying in solvent? And regarding white base...did it come in the formulation...or you just match the best white for it? And the blend...so basicly you blended the white base..and went with pearl edge to edge? Thanks.
@TheGunmanChannel9 жыл бұрын
Its the factory color and this is the only way to replicate the colour, I blended both base white and top pearl but left it just a little off the edge on the front door but the tailgate and rear bumper both colours come right up.

Gunman, what kind of pay rates can an experienced painter expect to make or what are the rates in your area

well it depends on your experience and skills but anywhere from $30 to $60 an hour.

Hi when painting the hood of a car pearl white do you have to blend in the side fenders or can you just paint the hood one shot
@TheGunmanChannel7 жыл бұрын
+Jens Tori as long as the colour is pretty good you should be right to paint a hood just by itself, if it's a side panel like a door or a Fender or a quarter panel it's recommended to blend the colour even if you are pretty happy with it.
@scarface49136 жыл бұрын
bro how come you are not getting multiple layer with the pearl where you stop and start,since you are not running the whole vehicle,plus i always get runs or orange peel very coarse

Gunman, How many years were you considered an apprentice before you started making money as a Journeyman Painter
@TheGunmanChannel10 жыл бұрын
I did a 4 year apprenticeship so I am a Tradesman not a Journeyman, I could go for a Journeyman qual in Panel Beating if I wanted but I don't want it.
@lastingimpressionspainting378710 жыл бұрын
The Gunman I asked because I have also went through an apprenticeship but it took me 6 years to complete as a Bridge/Industrial painter but I would really like to try me hand at painting cars as opposed to water treatment plants and bridges, less hazards
@TheGunmanChannel10 жыл бұрын
Yeah less hazards but as you probably know there is a completely different skill set and you'll have to learn some new things but no doubt if you try for long enough then someone will take you on.
