Great vid Dex! I always learn something new from your vids! I noticed in your effects box pan/crop is part of the chain. I am guessing you are using platinum 11 in this video. I use platinum 10. Sometimes I wonder if I could place an fx before or after the pan/crop in the chain. Is that possible in platinum 10? Particularly with some transitions this can be a problem because the transition goes across the whole screen not just the area that has been pan or crop.

Hey there! This is a great tutorial and it works just fine... BUT problem when exporting! I use the same program as you (Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11) and I followed your tutorial step by step, and I managed to do everything, and it works when I play the video on the interface = you see the blur. However, whenever I try to SAVE this as a video on my desktop (make a movie), the blur is barely noticeable, almost not there = therefore useless. Why is that?? Do you have a solution? :(

Movie Studio Zen thank u very much for sharing this info :D Question 1 : Do i have to copy the whole video or just the clip that i want to blur? Question 2 : can i make more than one blur? Its for the gameplays that have some nude in *cough* Outlast for example *cough*
@MovieStudioZen6 жыл бұрын
1. You only need to copy the section that needs to be blurred. 2. Yes you can make more than 1x blur. Insert a 3rd Video Track and clone the video a 2nd time. Apply Cookie Cutter and Blur FX again to 3rd video. You can keep repeating the process for as many different "faces" as you need to blur.

Very helpful, thanks. It's been a while since I edited a vid and was staring at the screen wondering what to do after all this time lol. One question, you may have a vid on this you can point me to. How do I change the resolution (pixel dimensions) of the video after I've started editing? At the moment I have it at 950x540 which is great for my game vids but it seems to be the default. I would like to up it to 1280 or something, but I don't just want to zoom in. Thanks so much.
@riteasrain10 жыл бұрын
***** Yep that 960x540 (sorry, I said 950) is the default for my game vids. That's the size recorded in Fraps (1/2 the size of my monitor) so I keep them at original res. This particular recording however (not a game one) didn't bring up any size options when I dragged it into the Vegas window, so I wasn't alerted to changing it. I realised a little way in that because the recording is very widescreen, it's smaller than should be. Thanks so much for your help and time, I'll nab these suggestions and go through it in the prog. Hope you don't mind if I pop back with more questions if I have trouble :)

hi there I've been using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 11 for about 2 years your videos on your channel have helped me a lot on how to green screen and how to blur out someone's face your videos have really helped me learn how to use Sony Vegas thanks for that not too many videos go much into detail like your videos to learn how to use Sony Vegas there is one little concern though I wanted to ask you about I have been noticing that my Sony Vegas Movie Studio 11 has been acting up normally when I start a project I give it a file name and I save it throughout the project I am saving my video project at the same time while I'm editing it my problem is that Sony Vegas is not responding I've been noticing over the last 24 hours that my Sony Vegas has really been acting up every time I go to open Sony Vegas to open my project to start where I left off to load the project takes about 3 seconds and Sony Vegas crashes it says its not responding in this happened so many times in a row I ran my mail where bites cleaned up my computer a little bit and I uninstalled and reinstalled Sony Vegas twice and I still notice that its acting up I looked at some other KZbin videos on how to fix the not responding error message everytime I open Sony Vegas and load the project and there are a lot of people that are having this problem and really I have not found a good enough video to correct the problem I see you really know how to use Sony Vegas very well and that's why I decided to ask you this question I really would like to know if there is a way to fix this problem for me to get in contact with Sony well I think their life chat might be a bunch of ball what I mean is it might cost me money and I can afford it right now they mainly wanted to Sony Vegas because I like to work with green screen chroma key and I've never had a problem with Sony Vegas Movie Studio before once in awhile it would crash but normally I can get right back into my project and recover it so that's my concern right now if you have a video or make a video and how to fix the rendering error message please forward it to me I really would appreciate so thanks?

Hi, Thanks for this tutorial. I tried this Cookie Cutter method on a clip in Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 to blur out two street sign names. It worked but left pixellation artifacts in any subsequent transition on the timeline between two clips ie the pixellation effect suddenly reappeared again in a 2 second 'fly-out' transition. Hope that makes sense. Do you know what's causing this and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.
@MovieStudioZen7 жыл бұрын
Pixelation should *only* be applied to top duplicate video track and *not* bottom original track. Never add more videos and/or create transitions to the top 2nd video track - this must be left alone and only used for pixelation effect. Press green FX button inside video you used for transition and then delete Pixelation FX.

***** Thanks I fixed it. One other question, say I have a file with these characteristics below. When I save it after doing something really simple just like the pixellation, what is the best way to just keep exactly the same characteristics ? I see all the options for savng to my computer in various filetypes, but if I go for 1080p for instance, I can get a huge 35gig file. I just want it to be as good as possible for the smallest size.
