Unfortunately it was a very temperamental issue and every time I went to film it, it started straight up fine! basically it just wouldn't turn on sometimes and you could hear it try and crank it but it wouldn't!

So you have a 16mm nut on the torx bolt. I've done one on the drive yesterday and from factory it's just the torx bolt bolting into the starter x2. I dropped the subframe to tip the engine and got a torx spanner in. Had to remover heater control valvde and hoses. Was a bit of a shit job tbh.

Yeah its a weird one as the original starter did not have threaded bolt holes, but the new one did! but I must say that having it nut and bolt is a lot easier as you can get a ratchet on the nut and just hold the bolt with the spanner as there is little room to mover on the gear box side!

Definitely a lot easier. Well hopefully it will last. Also this was the first starter that I've removed and the housing over the gear broke into bits, one bit was sitting on the flywheel

I would recomend replace the crankshaft position sensor if never replaced before, and if the odometer reading is 150+ K miles. An extra $125 will save a lot of work since the intake manifold is being removed.

Yeah its not a great job and it kinda sucks as you're not really getting any gain out of it as its just like a maintenance job really

Hey bro, I noticed the starter you pulled out is a pre-1996 which has thin ears, is threadless and requires a bracket, and you replaced it with a post-1996 starter with thick ears, has threads and doesn't require a braket to be mounted, did you have any ensuing problems with that? cheers

No man was absolutely fine as it mainly the two bolts that hold it to the gearbox that hold it in
