Great video Ian!!! Nick Gornwall, JUST WOW!!!!! Alot of craziness!!! I still remember Fred Booth doing the first backflip in Bodyboarding magazine around 1990. Killer footage!! One killer video is Josh Garners medge video. None of these really crazy tricks, maybe an inverse, but everything hes doing is just over the top huge on a wedging section, and also, super clean. Alright, I'm rambling,😂 great video!!!

Loved the video bru it was awesome,there are 6 other tricks I’ve seen being the finger flip(flipping the board) by PLC, Josh garner has done invert to 360 board spin, we also can’t forget the 360 bird spin 😂, PLC has also done a no handed invert, PLC has also done a body varial (does a roll without the board), front flips are kind of ford flips so I don’t know if you count that, and I remember once seeing a air forward to front flip but I haven’t found the video after my first time seeing it but it was a bald rider on an old video riding huge waves and he landed it.

Can you do a video on giant closeout barrels and what you should or shouldn't do to minimize the pounding? Should you try to straighten out to avoid the weight of the wave or is it not worth the risk of getting a heavy lip to the back?
@iaincampbell_10 ай бұрын
I did a video on falling in the barrel so I’ll post the link to that below but I suggest never go straight unless you can outrun the lip to the back. 9/10 times it’s going to be less of a pounding inside the barrel then having the lip land on top of you! kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZaWiIR-ntWaeMksi=RXtYL__q3aS-D1-5

I didnt realize there hasnt been a double air forward. Ive done a few of them, but never a clean landing back on the wave and riding out of it. Definitely some witnesses, but none of them are documented. Im sure other people must be having similar stories. Theres so many good air waves in the world that i cant imagine that nobody has ever landed a clean double air forward at one of those waves.

How about injuries...these are part of the sport but surfers or bodyboarders keep it out of the edits or never talk about it. There is no way that you can try these moves without any consequences. maybe a video of injuries sustained by some of these guys.
@iaincampbell_10 ай бұрын
I have only heard a few stories about injuries but nothing ever too bad… Will do some research! 😉🤙🏼
@dimelojudo264910 ай бұрын
@@iaincampbell_ I don't mean to be discourteous but there is no way you can surf any of this surf points and not get injured. The most recent and unfortunate injury was Mikala Jones. I never met the man but I loved his drive and his commitment to his passion and when he passed, I mourned him like if he were a family member. I suspect Jeff Hubbard has broken ribs, Billy Kemper almost died in Morocco, Jeremy Flores landed on his face at Lackey peak. We bodyboarders, we might not be in the Limelight as much as surfers but we hurt too; however, we suffer in silence.
@qwertysaurexists9 ай бұрын
I am nowhere near a pro, so this little “injury” wasn’t too bad… but once when bodyboarding in a rocky area I got wiped out and scraped at shore. I feel this can be a risk in certain places for bodyboarding.
@johndoeyedoe3 ай бұрын
L4, L5, S1 bulges. Torn rotator cuff. Both pinkies dislocated in super shallow shore break. Separated rib cartilage. Lacerations, so many lacerations. More injuries but can't be bothered listing them all here.
