I know how to boil pasta but trust me, there is an art to making the perfect al-dente pasta! I am 62 years old and consider myself a pretty good cook. But the one thing I have never quite gotten right is getting my spaghetti to be al dente. I make awesome homemade spaghetti sauce. Then, I always end up so frustrated that my spaghetti noodles end up being closer to mushy than al dente! 😡 That's exactly why I am watching KZbin videos on how to boil pasta. Lmao.
@TheCookingCorner24 күн бұрын
@twohassles43 Thank you for your comment. You are right! Making a really good al-dente is difficult and that's actually a video we should look into! That's awesome you make your own sauce. Something we don't do but is so cool. Maybe we will look into an al-dente vid!

Hi Chef must oil be added if so why and if not why not lm a beginner and want to know how to make pasta perfectly also thank youuuuu
@TheCookingCorner3 жыл бұрын
You don't have to add oil, however it keeps the pasta from sticking together. We use Olive Oil since it is healthier. If you don't add oil the pasta has a change of getting stuck together and hard to take out and plate. I really hope you try this out and keep checking our cooking out. We really try to help others out! Keep cooking!

@TheCookingCorner Жыл бұрын
Hello Deanokrl, I add my pasta after the water stars boiling. If you are using a smaller pot putting long pasta in boiling water softens the pasta faster so you can get it in.

Water must keep boiling also when you set the pasta in it, just lower the fire...chef!

You know your so right, we figured thay out to. I feel it's because the electric stove stays hot and a gas stove can cool down faster due to the surface. Sould I redo this vid?

@@TheCookingCorner np... - I also wash my pasta with fresh cold tap water, just enough to get the sticky stuff off the pasta, then back in the warm pot and turn with butter or oil. This will prevent them from sticking together without the sauce, and adds taste :) Velbekommen

soooo why the seven minutes part
@TheCookingCorner3 жыл бұрын
Thats just the amount of time before the pasta is over ir under cooked. This is for an electric stove however not s gas stove.
@englishwithaltini2 жыл бұрын
@@TheCookingCorner would it be less time on a gas stove?
@TheCookingCorner2 жыл бұрын
@@englishwithaltini Great Question Altini and I'm sorry I never addressed this. It would be more. Gas stoves cool down faster based on the fact there burners have more air flow. Electric flat tops stay hotter. If you use a gas stove I would recommend keeping the flame on low. For 7 minutes after the boil. I hope this helps. However always just test how soft your pasta is too!

Why drain it right into the sink 🤢
@TheCookingCorner21 күн бұрын
@kozukioden8872 Where should we drain the pasta? Outside?
@kozukioden887221 күн бұрын
Think about it like this . When you put the strainer right Ontop of the drain , the water will push back up again a little bit onto the pasta because the drainage hole is small . Now imagine you put the strainer onto another clean plate or something and then drained the pasta . That way you’ll avoid the splash back from the drain . If that make sense 🫡🙏🏼
@TheCookingCorner20 күн бұрын
@kozukioden8872 It does, yes. My 1st reply was only being silly too. My strainer does have a lip on the bottom of it, so it's not flush with whatever is sitting on. It's off the ground. Idk if that helps, but I do understand, and you make a good point. Usually, I like to hold the strainer in one hand and the pot in the other. So it's higher up in the sink. However, some pots are hard to do that with with. Especially with hot water. I do like your tip! Thanks for the comment and good advice, and thanks for watching!
