I finally passed in July at the age of 49 😂 My test that I booked was for late Oct. My driving instructor had a WhatsApp group with other local instructors, and they could swap dates, hence me be able to take my test in July. I hope most independent instructors do this. I just booked first test I saw day after doing my theory November 22 for May 23 and told myself I’ll just have to be test ready by then. I did tell my instructor if I wasn’t ready I’d move it or he’d swap it with another pupils. So glad I did pass first time😊 My examiner aid the centre had taken 2 new examiners on but they quit after a month!

I used the testi app to refresh for hours and then I had my laptop open logged in to do it straight away. Managed to get it moved from jan to today and passed! 😊 i think if you want it, you need to put in the time to try get one! X

on the topic of driving test now, like cancellation apps, i bought one in May and ended up getting one in september for the next day, which was one day before i went back to university, luckily i passed with 7 minors but it’s honestly all luck, my mate got one in the first week of using it for the next week. love your content by the way it literally allowed me to pass as i leant with my parents. thank you!

I originally booked my practical test for 13th march. I used the free version of testi and it helped me bring it to february 21st. Then again found me a slot and got it changed to the 7th of January. It's very effective if you can refresh the app alot but I would recommend the paid version to notify with cancellations

The easiest way to sort it out would be to make tests non transferable! So you can buy it under one name only. Why haven't they done that?!

@LeZoaster02 Eaxacly! In many Europen countries, when a test is booked, it’s registered specifically for the individual, and transferring it to another person isn't typically allowed. This creates a system that is fair, and there's no potential financial gain.

easiest way is to book test anywhere in uk then use app called < driving test now > and pick dates and test center and time you want and the app will change your test date and test center and time automatically .tried all of them and this one really works 👍

Saw this video release this morning before my test, hoping i wouldnt need to rebook if i failed. Luckily thanks to this channel and my wonderful instructor i passed first try! One minor fault. Big up to yourselves, youre a great resource for all aspects of driving! Oh and to contribute to the video, i managed to get a cancellation through Testi to move my driving test forward a few months. It was difficult though as you have to be lightning quick, and even then sometimes i would click the push notification and it would just take me to the website, and the cancellation wasnt there. Super frustrating but my advice is to keep trying!

I just passed my driving test and to be honest, one of the things that stressed me out the most was all the hassle of test dates if I failed. It’s a joke how bad it is and it just piles on the pressure. I had a cancellation app but never used it in the end and I was worried I’d try and rebook the test and lose my slot! I have a quite varied experience with this. I learnt to drive in my hometown where no tests are available and you have to do the Monday thing. The apps didn't work at all and I didn't have 4 hours etc to stare at the site. So many people means that even if you're using an app, it's probably gone by the time you get the notification. Currently I'm learning at university and the local test centre has tests to book now for 2 months time. Here the apps work well (less people are fighting for a test) and I got a few notifications each week. I think this is where the discussion about the apps not working comes from. They do work, but if no tests are available at your test centres, the small supply and the massive demand will mean that the cancellations will go between the time it takes for the app to check and then send a notification.

@@DrivingSchoolTV Newcastle! There's 3 test centres for a reasonably small population. There's actually now a shortage of examiners (most people wait around a month to get regular lessons), which is a total reversal to the rest of the country

It took me 5 attempts until I passed my test so I’ve got quite a lot of experience in relation to booking a driving test. I did my first test on 9th of July, For my second test I got lucky and found a test available 3 weeks later so I booked that. Fir my third test I used Driving Test Now, initially they gave me an earlier test in September but then moved it forward to 20th of August with only 5 days notice, for my fourth test I again got lucky abd found a test 4 weeks later after constantly refreshing the booking system and on my 5th test (which I passed) it took me 2 days to move my test forward to 2.5 weeks after my previous one. So for me the method that worked best was just refreshing the system until I eventually got a cancellation.

Get a techy friend to help you book it with custom scripts. Some are open source. Its fiddly but managed to get a test within a month in just 30 minutes

Thanks for this video Francis - this needed to be said! This is the only reason I was so stressed about failing 😭 I've got a feeling the test has been made easier or at least fairer because of the backlog. What's your take on that? Driving Test Now worked perfectly for me. To get a test you need to get on the DVSA site at 6am Monday and Wednesday every week. If you refresh too much you will get temporarily blocked from the site.

True. The system keeps blocking me for refreshing the site. Even if you have time intervals for the refresh, they still block you eventually for just being online for long time. Did lots of research but the whole situation made me really stressed. So I decided to buy a resell test. I encountered lots of scammer online, especially in facebook😂. Luckily I have a colleague who happened to have direct contact from a legitimate reseller. I am test ready, and I just wanna pass the test and get a licence. So I did, and my problem is over. I passed two months ago.

I'm currently seeing 7-10 real cancellations a week p/test centre on the Testi app. But most of the follow up cancellations are knock on effects. As mentioned, you have a few seconds to click each time - though be aware notifications are not consistent so worth checking randomly.

also be open to other locations. Your DI would probably say no, so you could get a friend to borrow you their car or there are companies which loan you a DI and their car for three hours. Also so many ways to fill backlogs. dont let people rebook after 3 months if they fail. Maybe increase price of tests temporarily and then refund half if they pass, none if fail. Temporarily bring in ADI for a few weeks to do tests to get backlog down, with all their work recorded to deal with cases of complaints etc

For London - I paid premium to a reseller that my driving instructor knew 😢 then I decided to try my luck in Middlesbrough and it was much easier to book - loads of cancellations through Testi. Testi for London tho - useless.

I've failed 7 tests for stupid reasons so no guarantee you will pass even if you pay hundreds. These examiners don't care-the last one at Macclesfield she failed me driving back inside the test centre for cutting the corner even though there was no other cars coming in or out of the test centre and I was driving at the correct speed. That was my only serious and 4 minors. Noone has a chance these days-they want motorists off the road.

There are browser extensions that would keep the tab open and refreshed in the background. As for me personally, I passed my theory in June and was able to book manually on some random Monday at 6 am for.. drum roll.. December. No rush though as I can still drive around on my foreign license until March. But this whole system is rigged and crooked, and I'm sure a handful of people at DVSA have a share in this black market.

I booked test at a random test centre in uk .. downloaded Testi £11.99 that’s it only one payment. put in my preferred test centre and managed to get the exact centre and perfect time for my test. Every Monday new test dates pop up for your preferences. Last week all of November and December popped up. Good luck guys! ❤
