Don't forget, that if you book hotel and flight separately, you do not have the ABTA cover, so if your airline goes into liquidation, you will have to sort out and pay for your own flight home. Always book your hotel and flight together, that way it's treated like a package holiday and you have full ABTA and IATA cover, in case it goes wrong.

Really good video. I do a similar thing but mostly with Ryanair and Easyjet, In one year recently two of us did 7 holidays between 4 and 7 nights each a couple even including car hire all including flights and accommodation for less than £1500 each. We did places like Madrid, Scilly, Canary islands, Valencia etc and stayed in apartments rated between 7 and 9 out of 10.

Yes. But I'd be approaching the Ryanair gate with trepidation carrying that bag. If you say it works for you then it must work. Buy a tube of travel wash at the destination and it should provide space for a week for those not needing a laptop.

Ive used it on at least a dozen flights and it's never raised an eybrow. I've used it with Easyjet twice too. I get my laptop in there too (it has a laptop compartment)

Maybe do one on best type of baggage or tips to get though customs, ( I had a nightmare recently, wore a hat, belt, jacket, money bag an had to remove every time, coming back I wore elasticated shorts, open sandals, no jacket, no hat, no money belt and sailed through.) Also type of credit card.

Let me just add one small tip when booking flights from "london" because I nearly made this following mistake. This wasnt on google but on a major airlines website. After some thorough searching on dates and times (and as you say trying different out and back dates) i found what i thought was a great return trip, not just at a great price but also good times of day. It was only just at the last minute before buying i noticed it was out of gatwick and back to heathrow (or vice versa i forget which).. That might be OK for you, but OTOH if youve booked parking at one of those airports, less so🤣

Since the pandemic, airport parking charges have increased significantly particularly at Heathrow. I now use a local taxi company as it's so much cheaper plus I can fly and return from different airports

When I returned my car had been damaged with tell-tale traces of white paint left on my blue car. I emailed Heathrow Parking and asked if they had CCTV footage of the incident as they "promote" the parking as being under CCTV. The response was that the cameras are only on the entrance and exit barriers and they have no video of what happens in the car park itself.....
