Bounding is an intense plyometric that teaches the athlete how to apply a lot of force fast. It utilizes the stretch shortening cycle. The focus should be on extending the leg in unison with an aggressive arm swing and leg drive. The faster the run up the shorter the ground contact times will be.

Hey coach, In the bodyweight training episode of your podcast you mentioned that bringing weightlifting too early into your training phase can reduce your ceiling. When do you recommend that someone(particularly a high jumper) starts lifting weights? I also might have misunderstood the statement.

Is playing basketball and doing vertical jump training in concrete bad for the joints? Been training like that for a while but how bad it is?

Hey John two Question: What is deload and taper? Especially taper? And how do I increase my max on squats and cleans? For example if I want to jump my 240lbs squat max to 315lbs and hang clean 135lbs to 200lbs what I got to do? Will be grateful and appreciated it if u reply.

Would the concept of hitting the ground instead of letting the ground hit you apply to all plyometric exercises (depth jumps, hurdle hops, etc)?

Yes because you want to be prepared to jump before and spend as little time as possible on the ground
