That was hilarious. And that goes for many of the comments below as well. Thank you very much for reminding us that being a serious musician and being a very funny person actually goes together. :-)

When I was in school, our rule was show them the top of your head and say 'hippopotamus' to yourself. My glasses fell off my face not once, but twice in my bows at my senior recital. The second time was the end so I left them out on the floor.

I like to incorporate my arms into the bow Do a little hand twirl as I put my arm over my lower chest It makes it look more grandiose I think that's really important

This video is so fucking funny man!!! I got a little high and wondered "what is the proper way to take a fancy bow?" Although the last time I needed to take a bow was 20 years ago after my 4th grade play in which I had a stellar performance as "Super Badger #2" I still wanted to be prepared in case I ever had to take a bow again. Because you never know you know?

Had I not been in the throes of a migraine today, I would have had the dilemma of how to bow with a contrabass clarinet. I sit at the front edge of the stage, so there's room to swing it around, but really, it's bigger than a wizard's staff.
