Anyone pass on the fact that the first ball with the second ball left two pins and he just threw the ball down to reset the pins and still spared, I have troubles picking that up when I tried and he made it look effortless

That would be quite difficult to do on a general video. So many things factor in to lane breakdown. Temp/humidity, your line & arsenal, other bowlers line & arsenal, lane surface topography & oil pattern, your style/power, and the list goes on. Best bet would be to get a coaching session from a local, or get the B&K membership. The membership allows you to upload a video and get customized coaching on your game/style.

just seen one of those leagues here for the summer and considering it because the balls offered are world class but i imagine you get them after the league is over which is not so fun as being able to have some new balls for a new league and everyone kinda breaking them in and learning how they react but obviously if they just gave them a lot of people would just not show up after 1st week

When I travel for work I can only bring 1 ball. It's a very versatile ball I can do a lot with, but it certainly isn't for all conditions. Until yesterday I thought it was "dead" (it is a 27 year old reactive ball!). I finally got on some lanes where the conditions matched what it originally was meant for and it did pretty well. Still was kinda weak on the finish, but it proved that it still has life left.

As a UK bowler, with extortionate prices on bowling equipment, not just balls. It's been a challenge to have the multitude of balls in the bag to be able to bowl the pattern. League night can even be hit and miss. I've had some experience of getting bowling balls from the US but I was often taking them as hand luggage on flights. I wish I had the access to the equipment and lanes you gents do! I am a little/lot jealous. I bowl on a VR game and I've been trying some of the tips in there and it's helped my average in a computer game. ;)

This is what I’d take as a two handed to any unknown pattern as a 210 average two hander if I was limited to 6 from least backend hook to most: 1. Any urethane, I have a purple hammer right now 2. Super Nova (solid asym) 3. Eternity (pearl asym) 4. Phaze II (solid sym) 5. Revenant (pearl sym) Spare: Ice If I could take more I’d bring a sanded RST X-2 or a asym hybrid (I don’t currently have one) and a Zen Soul to fill the gaps. I’m not big on taking balls with the same core, I feel like it gives less versatility since the only thing different about the balls are the covers. As you may notice none of these balls I mentioned have the same core

Jake peters held a clinic after the regional practice in Dublin, Ca and told me about the strong symmetrical loves to go sideways as I saw on the lanes and went over the pocket. He then told me to use my asymmetrical because it rolled forward of the spot and it went to the pocket. My perception was absolutely wrong on asymmetrical and symmetrical. Gentlemen, how are we doing? I’m starting it into your channel I have bowled since I was a little kid having said that I do not bowel on a regular basis and I’m still considered a beginner because I do not bowl regularly. However, it’s so fun. I know I do not have the best technique/fine motor skills. you guys have a Lotta good videos but then again I do not understand the terminology because I haven’t been doing it for so long I am trying to learn and understand, but I am not on your level. I know at the end of the day I want to Simply get better at consistency. I would be open to learn how to hook the ball but for right now I wanna get good at throwing it straight down the middle to increase getting strikes and at least avoiding gutters. Having said that if I would get my own custom bowling ball if I could have one and I’m on a budget and I want to throw straight what do you recommend?

Just like fishing lures, the balls are made to attract the bowler, not the pins (lures are meant to attract the fishermen, not the fish). Oh, and the price of balls is the same as it's been for at least 30 years. Top tier balls are still around the $200 mark. That's what they were in the 90's. Honestly, that's kind of amazing considering the amount that everything else seems to have increased.

Back in my day most bowlers had an arsenal of two bowling balls, a hard surface like a Brunswick Black Diamond or Columbia Yellow Dot. Then a softer surface Manhattan Rubber. We knew how to adjust our delivery, speed and positioning. And I might add we did this within the bounds of the lanes on the approaches. None of this using part of the approach that belongs to the lane to our left. None of this lofting the ball 1/3 of the way down the lane. In fact most proprietors would stop you from bowling for lofting the ball. I'm not even going to comment on two handed players. We "bowled" back then.
@rocketsurgeon11
@rocketsurgeon11 2 жыл бұрын
Times have changed. There are no rules on HOW to deliver the ball to knock down the pins. Just that it has to be done by a person and there are specifications on how that equipment can be prepared. Just like you can have different pitching styles in baseball. As for the lofting, the REASON that proprietors would stop you is because the lanes were wood. You could physically damage the lanes doing it. Synthetic surfaces are much more robust and more difficult to damage from impact. I would even bet that most bowlers don't like to loft the ball because you can lose an element of control and the reason they do it is to adapt to the conditions they are facing. There's one house I went to where the first 3 feet of the lane had NO OIL! I don't know if it was because of the way their machine was set up or what, but it caused me to HAVE to try and get the ball over that section of the lane before making contact or it would have a REALLY poor reaction.

Great video! Keep up with the videos! Thanks for the positive energy! Unlike “the house bowling”. They’re disrespectful and snobby and give zero about the bowling community. Legit sounds like a spoiled brat. Can’t even win a PBA title and probably never will.

I’m not making my amazing point as a detriment to bowling, quite the contrary. I want it to be known as a sport. I have 2 issues. 1 is what I wrote prior about being a physics major (which I am), and the 2nd is the house shot. It cheapens bowling to the point that it’s like everyone using that big red wiffle bat when they hit. That’s what the house shot does for lousy bowlers. Do you guys want the hole in golf to be 6 feet in diameter next?? Again, we can discuss. But I’ll win

I just went from Nationals... tight pattern where I averaged 203 for 9 games to a 9-pin tourney where I shot 1198 for 4 games. 300-300-298-300. I'm in the no more house shot camp!

Some people don't want to take the game as seriously as others. That's what a house shot is for. It's not so PBA Pros can feel good about themselves, it's so your average Joe can still have a good time even though their skill set is not as developed.

Being a "physics major," means very little. 🤔Let me know when you get a degree and/or become a physicist. Then your opinion will be qualified. I'm an actual engineer, not an "engineer major," so we can talk physics if you'd like. Next, your comparison is little dramatic and not comparable at all. A closer relation would be using old wood drivers on today's PGA courses. Last I checked, nobody is doing that. Another closer relation would be a house shot to a par 3 course and sport shot to a pga course. Do you think very many people would want to keep golfing if they started by getting quad bogey's on the easy holes of a pga course? No they certainly wouldn't. Harder courses are fun to watch the great play on but very few golfers would enjoy playing them. Just like sport shot. Not very many people have fun on sport shot. So people usually start at the driving range/putting green, then go to par 3 course, then to 9 holes of par 72, then 18 holes of par 72. Last, a select few may do a full weekend tournament if they are really good. Even fewer will play on PGA courses. Bowling alleys have to make money and they make more money on house shots. The same reason tournament directors in most areas run house shot tournaments; there is exponentially more participation for house shot than sport. Just the way it is. We wouldn't expect everyone to participate on PGA courses, regardless of skill. Why would you expect everyone to participate on sport shot, regardless of skill?🤔 It's a progression. I bowl both and don't complain either way. Both take a certain degree of skill, just different skill sets.

This is like what ocho talked about on straight up 5 with Johnny Petraglia JR. Basically it proves my point that it’s a skill and not a sport. You can be as athletic as you want, throw the ball exactly where you want, and you aren’t rewarded. Should you be an athlete, or a physics major? I dare anyone to challenge what I say.

You are wrong. Baseball is a sport. In baseball, you can swing the bat precisely where you wanted to, at the precise moment you wanted to, and still not hit the ball. Does that mean baseball is a skill? No, it doesn't. Pros are pros because they have a collection of skills that allow them to do well in the sport. Being able to see the pitcher's mechanics, the rotation on the ball, and judge the velocity in time to swing a bat to the right place doesn't require them to be, nor make them physicists. It's no different from the pro bowler that analyzes the pattern on the lane and what their ball is doing to make adjustments to what they're doing. Saying house shots should go away is like saying batting cages should all throw the ball 100mph. How many people do you think would be able to hit that? It would suck the fun out pretty quickly.

Today’s lesson, it doesn’t matter if you’re an athlete and doing what you should, it’s a matter of what round object you use which looks exactly like all other round objects. That’s why bowling will never get back to where it was in the 70’s and 80s. Makes me sick. No, I’m not wrong. Regardless of who this offends.
