I knew a Afrikaner couple, they ran a stall selling South African food here in Peterborough, UK. They sold gorgeous Biltong, Droëwors and Boerwors. I loved it so much, they moved back to the North Cape to run the family farm, miss them a lot.

I’m in the US my dad is giving me what you call a braai grill that was made for him, he almost didn’t want to give it to me bcos he said i wouldn’t know how to use it. Well I’ve been doing my research bios I want that grill and o came across something called braai... in have to say your video had been the most informant ... great job!!!

CampX4 & Outdoor TV a friend of his on where he had worked had no idea my dad was big on grilling until he came out to the house, the friend decided to make a grill for him, bcos he knows how to making grill pits out of old water heater barrels and wanted my dad to have one. My dad have 2 large fancy brand grills w/smokers, he completely forgot about the grill his friend gave him til we cleaned out his storage shed. When I saw that grill my eyes got soo big, and he made me promise to do my research before he gives it to me and I have been doing just that. It has got rusted tho, before it when in the shed, i haven’t got it in my possession yet. But I will make a video when I clean it and put it to use.

My old man uses large ice tongs as his braai tongs and so do I - quite frankly they provide the best control over the meat of any tong I've come across - I can't stand those kak ones with teeth on the side (kind of like a fork?), they always rip 'n boerewors skin. its more logical if you start off cooking the sauasge then adding the meat.........sauage takes longer to cook......the meat will be cold by the time you have cooked the sausage.
@CampX45 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes you do have a point with the meat getting cold while cooking the "wors" sausage. But sausage generally needs a colder fire, hot fire makes the skin brake open, and then you have mince. And mince is difficult to "braai". Thanks for watching.
