I regularly shot low 80's as a junior, but I really wasn't planning too well because I was a dumb kid. It's been a very long time since I've played golf, but this time it's extremely different. My body can't perform at the same level it once did. I'm permanently disabled and I must use a walker to even walk now. I was a disabled junior, but my disease had not progressed enough to limit my mobility at that time. Over time it got worse and I would fall over with every golf swing. So I hung it up for many years. However I found a golf course near me that has a special cart designed for handicaps that stands you up and supports your body so you can play the game you love again! I am going to have a blast figuring out how to play golf again from that cart!

My best rounds lately have been when I put the driver away and hit a 4 iron off every tee. Maybe I'll throw a hybrid in there occasionally but there's nothing better than hitting a shot 210-220, and getting up and down all day. Your tips have been so helpful for me, I've never felt more confidential.

I'm similar in that I hit my 5 iron around 215 or so and hit driver maybe 4 times a round. I do hit a 3 wood off the tee quite a bit too, but I make way more birds and pars from the fairway off a flat lie . I love it when my buddies accuse me of playing old man golf when they're paying me off 😂

For single layer thinkers, they can’t understand that on the course, people don’t hit driver but they work on it away from the course. They seem to think that not hitting the driver for a while means giving up on it. We need multi layer thinking. Well done burricane. Nice work on being a true baus

That backfoot, closed face chip is the technique that I use the most often, since it's my most consistent and comfortable, and I always love seeing golfers who are far better than I am using it.

Appreciate the knowledge. I took up the game again age 44 when a driving range opened on my route home here in Cambodia. I also practice at a par 3 but don't enjoy the heat and cost of full rounds. Gotta increase your ball striking frequency. Make more time for your game so when you're on the course you're playing golf and not guessing how it feels! Chipping is really great but imo 80+ comes from lack of ball striking practice during the week. Make the time, baby! You got this!

I'm where you are but just turned 50 yrs old...got a late start! I recently analyzed my putting and realized that if I cut my 3 putts to less than 3 per round, I'd break 80 most of the time! My wedge play and long-range lag putting is pretty good...but I like to miss a lot of those pesky 4 and 5 footers. Take notes on your score card and find out exactly where you're leaking strokes...at least you'll know what you need to work on. Best of luck breaking 80 in 2024!!!

1:44 - I went away from using the line on the ball for my alignment and just trusting that I've lined up correctly. For longer putts I try and pick something on the green (a discoloration, a fixed pitch mark, etc.) to aid with my alignment. But once I'm ready to putt I'm not focused on the line on the ball, I'm just thinking about contact and pace. I'm sinking just as many long putts as I used (which isn't many), but I'm in better position to make that 2nd putt far more often because I'm not leaving them ridiculously short or long. Obviously do whatever works for you, I've just noticed a lot of improvement to my pace control since I've stopped using the line on the ball.

how to break 80 without hitting it more than 200 yards...play the senior tees. I do it all the time. Typical par 4 is about 360 so 200 and 160 nice chip sink your put done move to next hole. With decent roll I'll get some 220 ish tee shots allowing for 2 or 3 birdie possibilities per round. I'm a senior golfer and enjoy your videos which are some of my favorites. Thanks
