That's a golden fix of golf wisdom for true addicts Chief! I use more your break 80 videos to achieve my goal of breaking 90. I know that I am so close each round to play in the 80's but I usually score around 90 to 93 because of two blowup holes...18th holes is long haha.... Last week I smashed 90 with an 83!!! On a tough course that was hosting a tournament in the afternoon so the pins were nasty! Best round ever! So proud of myself! Been a fan since the first summer playing golf 4 years ago! I am finally able to reduce my errors and I chip and putt like a boss now! Thanks Matt!

15:40 That makes so much sense. I'm used to trying to adjust with my normal chipping wedge (56) knowing that the ball is going to come out much higher so I have to swing harder compared to a flat lie from the same distance. From now on I'll be pulling my pitching wedge or lower lofted clubs for those uphill lie shots.

Awesome video. The compact sand is a game changer. Stopped watching swing tips etc and started playing within myself and love the videos. 10.8 index and working at it. Golf game this year is way different. Will take a triple on a par 3 and then start a new game where I want to at least break 90 and see how low into the 80's I can go... (and its worked like a jem this year) really like your videos and for the they are more about self awareness which can cost you 3-8 strokes a round. Thanks so much for your wisdom and videos. Dan

I found your channel sometime last year and can't thank you enough, I went out today after watching this yesterday and shot an 81, that was with 11 pars 5 bogies and 2 doubles on the card. I would check the lies and it made me focus on the type of shot to hit. I promised myself that that I was going to break 80 this year. Thanks to your coaching, I know I can do it. I am still working on break 100. But I watched this yesterday. And today, I did not break 100. 😅 What I DID do was hit at least 5-10 shots that incorporated reading the lie, per these tips. Most of them went off just as predicted here. I even hit a GIR from 140 in the rough, ball sitting about halfway down, but slightly above my feet. Clubbed up, hit a punchy one to 17 feet and 3 putted 😭 I said all that to say: There is something here for us all. Even if consistent contact is still a work in progress, reading the lie can help you when you do strike it. Thank you, as always for the preemo content, boyfriend.

Very useful, especially for the obvious (?) bermuda grass lies out there where Matty lives. You have to travel south a long way from where I live to see any of that, but thanks for explaining those humongous divots against the grain. It's not that extreme at all with the Bent grass I normally play on in Holland, so when I first encountered bermuda grass on a course near Savannah GA 13 years ago, it gave me a right scare. It threw me off a bit through the rest of the round sadly. In the 'rough' I found the ball sitting on a cushion of grass, with air below it. Like it was moss. Had never seen that before, totally fluffed a couple of flop shots :-)

Long time gangbanger, first time commenter. :D Love the videos bud! I've been working on "feel" with my short game. By nature, I'm a "technical" person. If situation A happens, I do A. It's why I'm good from the tee box and fairway, but when I get close to the green everything falls apart. I get lost in the sauce as there are so many ways to chip (is it a bump and run, flop, regular, 56, 60, 52 degree). Anyways, something clicked watching this video, thanks for being a baus!
