A few years ago I started looking at the hole on all my putts - makes it so much easier to lag when you can see where you want it to go. On shorter putts you can look at the ball and still see the hole in your peripheral. Really improved my putting! Also, just got my Waddaplaya shirt and love it! Very comfortable! Waddashirt!

This video is speaking to all us JMac’s out there. And you’re onto something. There are more of us out there than low handicappers. There are lots of great tips there to help us rid ourselves of the obvious shots that hurt us round after round. If we can eliminate most of our pfoofies and sjouries, our score will immediately improve and our confidence will go up. It’s like losing weight. We can lose 10lbs the first week of a diet, easy by just eliminating the bad stuff. Super job Matt. Fist pump and Bro’ hug sent your way.

I was struggling to break 100 at my home course just last year. It is the hardest course outta the 20-30 courses near me and some people don’t even care to play it because of that. From the course management skill I learned on this channel, I shot an 85 yesterday! Thanks, Matt. It was a wild round too. I usually never hit the bunkers at this course an I hit 4 this round and got out semi-safely. I also hit 3 balls OB and finished with 2 bogeys and a double. Last year or the year before I would started freaking out and letting those bad shots get to me - no more!

Since watching your videos and reading Ben Hogan's book I've went from around 120-135 strokes a round to around 105-110. Only new to golf, hoping to break 100 soon. Great video, my last round the putting killed me so going to go to that putting green where no one else goes! WaddapractingPlaya

Yesterday I was out at 6:30 am with the grounds crew. I chipped and putted, rounded up some stray range balls and hit my gap wedges - with plenty of downhill lies (which need some work), then I went to the practice bunker and stayed there for about 45 minutes. I have to practice regular AND clip shots from the bunker because many of the bunkers on our course have very little sand in them. All that time equals more confidence and less stress when out on the course. I can enjoy myself as I work towards knocking those last 5 points off my handicap. Or not. I just enjoy myself.

Matt, I used to be horrible with long putts. Like JMac, I would be more focused on the ball than looking at the hole. After watching some of your earlier videos, I started standing over the ball, taking several overly exaggerated practice strokes. Then I would stop thinking and just let my arms rock back and forth, until the stroke felt right. I would check my line one last time and put away. It has made such an improvement to my game that I now "believe" I can two any shot I land on the green. GIOTG and trust your self!

Love the alignment tip, I read it in a mag when I was 12, it still astounds me so many people dont know how to line up there shot, I am always just trying to hit a target that is 2 feet infront of me, coudnt be easier, simple but deadly tip!!!

I'm finding that the videos from other golf you tubers on how to do individual things (set up for a driver for example) have been fantastic, but now I'm needing advice on how to practice and how to figure out what I need to work on. I started this season shooting 118. My best so far is 100, and I consistently shoot 104-107. If I can end this season consistently shooting 98 i'd be thrilled.

I was taught the game from the hole back. For some, its a boring way to learn as they want to stand on the tee and beat the daylights out of the ball. However, its the only way to properly learn. You will never drop your score from the tee box. Spend most or all of your time practicing from 150 yards and in, and your boyfriends will bow at your feet and proclaim you to be the Baus of the golfing universe!

The problem with most golf instruction is that is geared toward perfection. Most golfers would be thrilled to shoot 85 consistently. That golfer doesn’t need to be perfect, they need to be shown how to be just a little better.

Hey Matt I love your channel and I have a few questions: 1. As a high school golfer it is difficult to not hit driver on longer holes as long irons are high stress for me I am probably gonna get a 3 wood soon and that should fix that problem just wanted to hear your opinion on that. 2: there is no practice green near me that I can get to consistently the closet one has greens slower than my carpet so I do a lot of putting and chipping practice on my carpet, is this ok? 3 I have a lot of issues with my swing and consistently I can’t seem to consistently swing the golf club as it is difficult to get into a rhythm Any tips on that? Thanks Matt! Again love your channel

Oh Earthly Messenger, I take 33 putts per round, median 1st putt 15', almost all 2nd putts less than two feet. My routine is full Malaska, my practice is 1 hr/week putting down a steel ruler with a sand wedge plus 1 hr/week making 3-5 footers and rolling for distance control. If only if ... maybe five strokes could be gained? Where do I turn? Analyze misses? Tighter chips and approaches? Any clues where more exertion may result in fewer putts? Thanks Playa.

Different mics and different mic placement. I larger mic next to his mouth will sound different than a small camera mic 6 feet away with other noises in the background. If this stuff interests you, do some research on audio recording. There is so much more to it than you can imagine.
