Yes, but what would be the replacements when you're already eating whole food plant based & low fat? It's hard to know what swaps to make when diet is already excellent. The more extreme examples, I did not find helpful 😔

I understand this principle but whilst eating full plant based diet no oil . It’s hard to make lower calorie choices when I’m eating this way . The only thing I could do is swop hummus for salsa . I don’t eat nuts or seeds ( apart from milled flax ) to help with weight loss . I’ve lost nearly 2 stone which is amazing I’m so pleased. Now what can I do to carry on with my weight loss eat less starch and more veggies ? U.K.

The problem is that it isn't just calories in and calories out. My daily expenditure of calories is supposed to be 2300 calories. But if I eat more than 1100 calories a day, I will gain weight - eating whole foods SOS. It's my understanding from the research is that this is because my metabolism adjusts to expend less and less based on my low calorie intake and all of the yo-yo dieting over decades. So, if I'm already cutting out all of the "extras" and I'm eating whole foods SOS, what am I supposed to do? I lost 40 pounds, but now I'm not losing and, in fact, have started to gain small amounts.

Virginia…another great video! Ok, I’ve done everything you taught in this video, yet I still have a lot of body fat (35%). Especially in my belly. I do have to admit I’m still working on my hunger cues. I do eat a roughly 50/50 plate. Is this where I start to decrease my starch and increase my fruit/veggies to create a different calorie deficit?

Good morning Emmie, thanks for sharing another video with a methodical approach to weight loss...fantastic video :). I do have a question to you with regards to what to cut out. We eat a low fat whole foods plant based diet based on the Starch Solution...we don't eat any processed vegan junk food and have hit about a 2 month plateau. We have tried cutting back on the volume but then we get hungry and are no longer satiated. I love your example but do you have an example utilizing whole foods? We do the 50/50 plate rule and have actually started on a 60/40 plate with 60% veggies and 40% starch. It would be nice to know what whole foods would cause a plateau (ie: we don't eat avocado and limit our nut intake). Looking forward to your take...thanks so much for the great content as it does very much help and is appreciated...keep being you :). A big Canadian eh from Ontario, Canada

Canada 🇨🇦 I stop losing weight for 3 months. Than I decided to eat only around 1200 calories and add 30 minutes stationary biking. Eat less and move more should work I thought. Very quickly I gained 2 kgs. Then I heard about metabolic adaptation and that made sense. What do you think about the topic?

Hi Emmie! I am a new subscriber. I was learning a lot from your videos to get me back on track. But, I really don't understand this video. Why did you use the SAD examples, to show how to get past a plateau, when many of us are on a whole food plant-based diet? What can we do to break a weight loss plateau, besides cutting back on the amounts we eat? Or, is this something we would need to sign up with you, to find out? Thank you!

The audio in your office is not as good as it used to be, like in your kitchen. Maybe some sound proofing would help? Curtains, rugs, soundproofing on walls? I don't know. Kind of an echo, tinny sound. I do enjoy the content of your videos, though!
