And he thinks talking about money makes him feel dirty.but he's worked through it and we try harder to budget now. It is dangerous if you can't reign it in. Someone suggested to me to give a budget for goodies, EACH. 150$-500$. (Whatever suits your budget) my husband I both tried to live within that for personal spending money. When it gets close to payday, we had a specific area with one sheet of paper. If there were extras you wanted that could wait, you list them there. As the new pay period starts around, you may both agree on this item. Then we put it on layaway and save. We still allow ourselves credit card purchases for xyz and stick to it.

Why did they have kids? They ship them off to family 3 days a week!!!!!!! What parent does that? Those two were 100% selfish. There's so many things they should be experiencing as a family. Babysitting should be while you both are working or qn occasional afternoon as a couple.

They only have one child, and he spends M-F w/relatives. They take him on the weekends. The other “kids” are their two dogs, and they get mommy and daddy all week, every week.

It's not lack of intelligence, just laziness. Lots of information on the internet, radio, TV library about handling your finances. I'm 67, quite well off and I still keep a spreadsheet showing income and expenses as I have all my life. Easy to see where the money goes which is why I am well off in retirement.

If I had a small kitchen like that I would also use the table where we eat to help prep the food and take it to the kitchen to cook it. It’s pretty easy then just to wipe off the table and eat dinner. I do believe these people are somewhat lazy Or they are not able to think outside the box because if people can cook when they’re camping in an Rv they can cook in that apartment. And not have the baby at home? Oh God the thought of not having my child with me would crush me.

This show is Canadian, their $140k CAD household income is equivalent to $104k USD. In today’s dollars it would be like having a household income of around $152k USD a year. I make close to $250k USD annually and I live comfortably in a luxury townhouse. A palace (I’m assuming a large multi-million dollar home) would require much more money than what I even make. You’d need a household income of at least 500k and a large down payment of around 400-500k to even afford a “palace”. And that is just to even be taken seriously. If you want to afford it comfortably you’d likely need a household income closer to 700k - 1M+ a year.

Exactly. He knows he's a failure, he's also not in love with her, its so obvious. Any man leading his home this way, crippling debt and son raised out of the house while he stands there saying "I'm hungry" is a failure. He knows what he is.

We raised four kids in a home we bought in south Florida on one third their income, including lessons and some private schooling. God is good . We aimed for biblical principles concerning finances. Like Crown Ministries. I stayed home. We cooked from scratch. Did DIY. Used state parks, libraries, nature trails, community and church programs. The kids learned to work early and buy their own luxuries. Although all are wealth building in their 20s, All four are creative and frugal.

Kids are get used very fast to people, if they grow up with them, my mom watched for my nephew when my sister had to work night shifts in a hotel, he saw my mom as his second mom, my mom took him for few days back to our home without my sister, no problems. My mom watched my neighbors kids, my mom was on maternity leave and the other was not, after a while the smallest kid did not want to go back home, she wanted to stay with my mom. Kids only care for someone who loves them and cares for them.
