Your right Jillian I’ve been working out 5 days a week for the past 6 months and barely lost 11lbs, figured out it was because I was over eating during the day, it is critical to not over eat. Since I’ve stopped I’ve dropped 20lbs this month.

I’m a man. I wasn’t born low T but I noticed the only way I can lose fat is to stop working out and cut calories. If I go to diet calories and stop exercising for two weeks I’ll lose 10 to 12 pounds. The point is this advice works for me. I can cut cals and exercise and I lose nothing but my mind. I have to eat 250 grams of protein to build new muscle. This convinced me to take a break and just get the fat off. Thank you :)

@@raraavis7782 it's pretty depressing. I can say though that going plant based has helped me tremendously. It completely eliminated the hormone bloat I was constantly having. But I can't seem to get to that low end of my normal weight where I feel my best. 😭
@raraavis7782
@raraavis7782 3 жыл бұрын
@@whitneymartinez3342 I tried plant based for a while...but I had such horrible digestive distress from the fiber generally and beans especially, I gave up on it after a month or so. My poor intestines were so upset, I just got bloated from everything I ate after a while and in the end I had to do a 3 day water fast to calm things down again. I do best on a high protein, low(ish) carb diet and plant protein sources don't seem to be working well for me. And I can't do stuff like oatmeal at all. I gain weight like crazy even on relatively 'healthy carbs'. I'm so jealous of people, who can have that and not overeat on it!
@whitneymartinez3342
@whitneymartinez3342 3 жыл бұрын
@@raraavis7782 that's awesome that you're in tune enough with your body to figure this out. It was the exact opposite for me, Animal protein bloats me like crazy, but beans don't. lol Go figure! Of course, do what works best for you. That's what is most important. 👍🏻
@raraavis7782
@raraavis7782 3 жыл бұрын
@@whitneymartinez3342 Thanks for being so understanding 😃 I really do get the point of going plant based for both health and environmental reasons (plus, it's easier on the budget, especially if you don't want to buy factory farmed meat), but man...it just didn't work for me at all. It rather sucks, having the way you eat dictated to you that way. But I try to make up for it in other aspects of my lifestyle at least.

Hi Jillian. Hoping for advice. I do your workouts all the time and have lost a lot of weight using them. I also run a few times a week. I don't use a scale quite honestly. I go by what I look like, and what size clothing I'm in. I'm about a 4/6 so I don't need to lose a ton of weight, but I would like to get more toned. My main issue is my arms. I hate them. I have bat wings (have since I was a teen) and no matter how thin I get, my arms are not cut like yours. It's not a loose skin from a huge amount of weight loss issue, it's just that my arms have always been a little beefy and flabby, even when I'm on the thin side. I am short and about the same size as you at 5'2" What's the best way to get my arms a bit more toned and cut. Should I up the ante on weights while doing your circuit training workouts or should I do boxing? Like legit boxing with a heavy bag etc... Would love your advice if you answer questions on here. Thank you! xo

@NOTREALLY HANKAARON I see. Well, I am not fat, no, but am always five to ten pounds over what I would love to be. Carbs are something I cannot seem to completely cut out. I can reduce them, certainly. But it is never enough. I think working out a few times a week would definitely get me to where I wish I could be. I thought you were calling me a nitwit, though it isn't much better to call her that either -- I didn't mean to shame you with my comment. Thanks for replying.
@simonehaydon
@simonehaydon 3 жыл бұрын
@NOTREALLY HANKAARON Totally agree! Low carb is the way to go. The reason people hit a plateau during fat loss is that the more you lose, the more your basal metabolic rate drops. The body fights back to regain the weight lost, leading to cravings and excessive hunger. It damages the metabolism, sometimes permanently. This was evidenced when almost everyone on the biggest loser show gained all their weight back when the show ended. Restricting calories so severely and working out several hours per day, plus being hungry constantly isn't sustainable.
@simonehaydon
@simonehaydon 3 жыл бұрын
Controlling insulin is key in both weight loss and maintenance. Lowering carbs lowers insulin. Lower insulin means reduced hunger and cravings = weight loss.

Not at all impossible. Currently doing it. Granted, it’s VERY gradual, because of course building muscle is a SLOW process, but it absolutely can be done. You definitely have to track calories and make sure you’re eating WELL, getting enough protein, drinking enough water, getting enough sleep, managing stress, etc. I’m a 56-year-young trainer. I lift 4 days a week and run 3-5 days per week. My goal is 135 lbs, currently at 150. I lost just 1.5 pounds in the past month, but also dropped 6.5 inches overall (from thighs, waist at the belly button, waist at narrowest point, hips, and bust).

Could you please help me figure out how many calories I should be eating to lose 1 pound a week? My AMR is 1720. I exercise 5 days a week mostly hiking with some dancing and 1 or 2 weight training days. I average about 400 minutes a week of exercise but my hikes can be intense with uphill and downhill. Chronometer says I burn 350-600 calories on a hike, not sure how accurate that is. I've been eating 1700-1800 calories a day, even on rest days. Am I eating enough? Too much? I'm trying to get down to 140-ish from 155 and I'm 5'4.

One of the things I do is I only weigh myself every three weeks. So long as that number on that scale keeps on going down I am fine. I have lost 14 lbs. in 7 weeks, so I am averaging 2 lbs. a week - so I must be getting the right balance. I am eating 1200-1300 calories per day and I am weight training 4 hours a week, swimming 5 hours a week, walking briskly for 15 hours a week (yes, you read that right!), and other exercises 3-4 hours a week, plus dancing an hour or two as well...

Ive been doing crossfit 5 days a week for 7 months. Im 50yrs old 5'6 and I used to be 160,but am now 193.ive just started seeing a fitness nutrionalist whos put me on the cornometer apo,app, track my calories which I think is 1400 or so,it tracks macros as well.i have completely changed my eating habits. I was on weight watchers for years,but when I noticed I wasn't losing anything since crossfit, I showed my trainer my food journal and she actually said I wasn't eating enough!? I eat when im hungry and only till im full.ive been on a totally whole foods diet,no refined sugars, no processed foods either. This new diet plan is all so new to me.at weight watchers, all veggies pretty much were "zero"poibts,now i have to measure and count the calories and nutrients in my veggies. You say to eat as many veggies as I can.im confused with this. Also I havnt been losing anything at all for months!and im discouraged, my clothes are tight,I feel healthy and pretty good ,but don't like how much bigger iam.im not comfortable at this weight. Its hard to be patient. I have done what you've recommended and gotten my hormones and blood work done to see how my thyroid and metabolism is,and its all really good. What should I do?I feel like I'm doing everything right. Should I just continue and just be patient? Will I ever get downtown 160 again? Please any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks literally exactly what I needed to hear just had a friend tell me (and yes there really is a friend 😉) that she is going on a 2-wk 700-800 calories, then 1000 for two weeks, then by 6wk maybe 1200-1500, 5'7" or so. She is really trying to loose weight so...I would say about a level 2.5 on your activity scale. Works out mostly slow run, really good dog walks and some light strength stuff I think 🤔. So thanks again for being real and yes please do talk about maintenance and loss for the "vanity" 5#. That's where I am struggling. ❤️ from Sitka, AK 🗻🦅🦦🐻🐋
