Great video! I have a question, I failed to give a 60 day notice, I just have a 30 day notice I was leaving. the leasing office explained the notified me via letter, but I received no letters explaining this in person or via email. So anyway I can’t get my security deposit back now, and they said because I didn’t notify them 60 days in advance I will be charged another months rent? When in the beginning I have security first and last, what can I do? I really do not want to lose out on my deposit and have to pay another month rent…please help 🙁

What I did was list my apartment on airbnb. Then emailed my apartment manager as if I was a neighbor saying that the neighbors or host airbnb and throwing loud parties that included smoking (which isn’t allowed) and (violated quite time hours). They just evicted me which doesn’t go into public records because no lawsuit was filed and I got my deposit back. Out of my lease just like that. With no penalties or nothing.

Ok this is important and Imp not treated medically where I am. In example I have seizures, extreme pain, fatigue, and living here its gotten worse cause I'm not being treated. That's not even all that is being untreated. I have a medical letter saying I need to move somewhere and get a mutual recession I think its called to get better medical care but to my landlord that has nothing to do with my lease. My lease was terminated because I gave notice that I had to move out due to my former roommate harassing me and that roommate abandoned the property. Would future landlords hold that against me? I did manage to get a house with a new landlord and new roommates. However, I'm scared that when I have to move, future landlords will hold the termination against me and I will end up homeless.

I could use some advice my apartment manager broke into my apartment when I was out of state and I have it on camera she entered my dwelling multiple times I asked her to do the right thing and return my things and just pay me unfortunately she stole a fire arm so I had to report that. Go to your county's online property tax records and search by the address. That will give you the owner's name. You usually can go to the property tax payment website in your county and see the mailing address of the person who pays the taxes. Not always, but good luck. I hope you got out of there. That woman should have been in jail.

@@taomovement4677 ah, we’re not sure about that - I’d assume that would depend on your contract. However, after BCT, you should be going to some sort of job training, correct? Also, I would just turn in your basic training ship orders to whoever manages your lease. They’re typically pretty military friendly and would help you out regardless.

Oh no!! Have you looked up the tenant rights in your state/city? You could also call the health department and see what your rights are. Unfortunately they’re different everywhere so you really have to do a lot of the research yourself.

@@oseicanyousee5512 eventually I bought out my lease… originally it was pay 3x the rent and take responsibility of the electric and rent until they found a tenant… I negotiated only paying 2 months in advance and not being responsible for anything. They also returned the security deposit. Definitely not something I wanted to do but I felt like I had no other options. I spoke to a lawyer who stated they’ve covered their asses just enough that I didn’t have any other standing.

@@ma2g3ic haha, yeah. Military isn’t horrible, but there’s prolly easier ways. Have you seen if you can have someone take over your lease? Talk to the landlord and see if they’ll allow it. Then post your place on FB marketplace or something saying they’ll take over your lease. It doesn’t always work, but it helps people not have to pay the security deposit and stuff. It might be worth looking into!
