Oh an just a tip for anyone struggling. PUT YOUR HEAD ON THE GROUND. The major problem with beginners is that they do not get high enough on their back since they try to keep their head off the ground and they just roll over their arm side instead of rolling over your shoulder. You can't just roll over to the side bec you won't get the stab. When you go to restab put the side of your forehead opposite to the stabbing arm on the ground and this will help you with the motion off thrusting your hips and getting higher on your back. Putting you head on the ground will help you get the mills much easier since you get used to getting high on your back. Plus mills with head is the gateway to all other variations of mills. Mills without the head look really ugly and slow trust me.

Why am I just seeing this, I just figured this out today while practicing XD. Also, even though I can't do them yet, it seems necessary to kick your legs up when you're on you're back during the windmill in order to get back up into the stab position.
@millsbomb007
@millsbomb007 3 жыл бұрын
@@Ze_Chevalier a slight slow kick with your right leg in upward motion (clockwise) this helps to get up on your shoulder to restab, keep head on floor.

So, since the lack of good windmill tutorials(this is one of the good ones but still incomplete in my opinion), I thought I'd atleast add a comment explaining one of the most overlooked things. One of the most important factors in a windmill is stability. Everytime you get back into the turtle freeze position, you should be on your head. And the way you do that is that you hop while on your back and use the support and stabbing hand as shown in the tutorial. This is detrimental to having a clean and high windmill, also makes the learning curve for the baby/munch mill easier.

Could you do a tutorial doing it counter clockwise? I start mine from a standing position placing my right arm as support and my left arm for stabbing, your mills are spotless clean man!

I don't know where to put my elbow for the baby freeze. Do you put it on your leg? Or your waist or hip? Please let me know. I end up getting bad bruises around the inside of right leg because I can't seem to find out where to put my elbow. I also can't put my leg when im spinning :P Any suggestions?

Daniel Le make sure you are spinning on your mid back. Not too high or too low.

I'd stay away from mills until the swelling goes away. I had the same problem when learning them years ago, and the solution for me was to not roll right on the middle of my spine but a bit higher, which I did by bringing my legs more over my head when I was on my back. That will also help you get a nice "spring" over your shoulder back to the turtle position and your legs/hips will end up nice and high there(in the turtle). And then you dive to your back again, make sure you pass over your shoulder and to tuck your legs close to your body/head again... you end up with some good up and down motion in the beginning. If your mills are good, you can do them very fast, but also very-very-very slow to where you can just freeze at any point. It's a very controlled movement, mostly controlled by your core and hips. I'd most definitely wait for the swelling thought, spinal injuries are quite literally the worst of all injuries. Do some sweeps or something :D .Good luck.
