How to brush on Ceramic Glazes - Gorgeous Glaze Layering with Dark Red Stoneware

In the full length video I show step-by-step how to brush on ceramic glazes, layering glazes and glazing techniques. I also show kiln opening with initial reaction and in studio thoughts. If you’re a beginner potter hobby potter, or production potter there will be something for everyone!
Many of you have asked about Glazing Brushes I thought I'd add this until I am able to do a more in depth video on tools, but I think this should hold you over. Some of the brushes that you see me use in my videos are from various Pottery Supply Stores, I have since purchased some from Amazon and Art Stores etc. and tested them out to see how much I like them...so far I'm impressed. Sorry for the delay in my response! Im usually much faster 😬 This clay is Plainsman M390, it's gorgeous to throw with and STUNNING when fired, it ends as a deep burgundy! I currently don't do online classes, however I'm definitely considering creating something. Cheers!

Hi Sophia!! Here is a link to the fan brush that I use, it's probably my most favourite brush for glazing...the #6 size - 1183R. It's pricy but worth it!!

Can we make glaz for clay at home??

Hello! Yes, many potters will make their own glazes. I however only use commercial glazes. That's not to say I won't make some in the future, but for now I like the confidence in knowing that the glazes work, are food safe etc. I think there are pros/cons for both. Cheers!

Yes, Gold or silver lustre overglaze would work well!
