I break everything down-bills, savings, investments, and “fun money.” But even then, some months just get away from me

Spreadsheets are great, but I feel like sometimes life throws unexpected expenses at you. Like, last month, my car broke down, and suddenly I’m spending hundreds I didn’t plan for.

It’s like that for me too. I set money aside, but when things like that come up, it feels like all my planning was for nothing. Any advice on how to plan better for that?

Well, one thing I started doing is setting aside money specifically for emergencies, separate from regular savings. I treat it like a bill. So, each month I put a small amount into a “just in case” fund. It helps when those unexpected things pop up.

Those are all really good tips. I guess my problem is sticking to it month after month. It’s easy to have a plan, but then life happens, and suddenly, I’m back to square one.

Yeah, I’ve been there,. One thing that helped me was working with Joseph Nick Cahill, my financial advisor.

I got this theory you need to be able to live (not exist) off 80% of your income the other 20% is for things going wrong. If you can live off 80% of your income you are living within your means 70% well within your means and 50% beneath your means.

Hi, you said to download your book for free but there is a shipping cost attached. I think there is a mistake here because if it's something to download then where does shipping cost comes in? For avoidance of doubt, here is a quote from the site "In this game-changing book, I unlock the secret world of property flipping. And for a fixed time, I am offering you the exclusive opportunity to download it for nothing!"
