I use concrete blocks it was easy with a plywood cut to size. I used a shade proof curtain to cover. You can use a waterproof table cloth. Storage underneath. Sweet and cheap. It's next to my bed. Easy cleaning😁💙🐟🐠💛💙🐟💛🐠

Great video! Tank stand costs are crazy, especially considering most are made from sawdust particles that will deteriorate over time. I love DIY videos for our hobby and once again, thank you! Now, if I only had room for a 150-gallon tank! (lol)

I built an almost identical stand although I didn't enclose the bottom. I did put 3/4" plywood for both the bottom shelf and the top. My big difference - and I'm sure this it totally paranoid overkill - I did not nail down the top plywood I just glued it to the crossbraces. I was nervous that if a nail or screw in the top ever got wet an rusted that it might expand into the bottom of my tank. Great work - great video! Happy New Year!

Nice solid job 👍 & that 125 will never budge. I had a Roma 200 before my Fluval shaker & my hubby reinforced the base with wood you've used & put solid wheels on it & half empty it moved about great. Your right above tank prices I paid just over £800 2yrs ago for my shaker & went to view the Fluval shaker 350 & that was over a grand & because it came out more at the front instead of length it was definitely a no 😂 Happy New Year to you 🥂

I got the notorious petsmart 125 gallon stand that came with the tank, it’s a particle board stand. It’s done great so far but I’m starting to see signs of it being older and getting damp. So this is on my bucket list. The stand isn’t bad either it’s extremely minor but I can see it if I look very hard.

Cool project, one feedback is that the stainless screws are the most expensive and typically used in exterior applications and in Cedar as that wood will literally corrode other fasteners. You should be able to find Torx head in other screw types, for interior applications "construction screws" should be sufficient, or if unavailable you could use "deck screws" which are exterior rated but not as pricey as the stainless

I had a similar issue and I put a UV light inside the HOB filter 24/7 for 7 days. Everything cleared up within a week! Now I just turn it on maybe once a week. I just made sure I took out any thin bags of carbon or what not, as it may cause holes in them. I've always heard that directly putting a UV light inside the tank could damage your fish. I, however, don't know about any fixed, outside UV lights though. Good luck! @@FRamirez1A

No, never put a uv bulb over your tank. The one you need is specifically made to go in the water and is built in with a pump so water flows over the uv. One brand I know of is called The Green Killing Machine.
