This dude makes it sound easy. Just listing parts. Building a car is about overcoming obstacles. It’s hard.
@zokusharuuku1091 Жыл бұрын
I’m currently installing all of those part’s including a new clutch and cat back and those parts were the easiest performance parts I’ve ever installed on any car. The clutch is so much harder in comparison since you have to remove the subframe but the normal new to cars enthusiast should easily be able to install everything mentioned in this video as I know from experience.

@@zokusharuuku1091 all I’m saying is the dude listed off a bunch of parts and was like “ boom 250 hp”. It’s not that easy. 20 year old cars are going to need be fully serviced So on top of all the “mods” you need to think about timing chains/ gaskets/ water pump/fluids. Also depending on the car you need fix all the little things that might have piled up over the last 2 decades. It’s like you’ve never stripped a bolt

I’m currently replacing the clutch in my r53 mini, so I decided might as well change the supercharger oil, put on a 17% supercharger pulley, 2% larger lightweight crank pulley, new water pump, new alternator, new headers, straight pipe Alta exhaust with two resonators. I’m definitely excited to have that whine at a much lower rpm! Only got to install the transmission, got everything else in but waiting on axel seals since they were leaking.
@bowenchristiansen578310 ай бұрын
how did it end up sounding and performing? I used to own an R60 (ik, the "lame one") but I did a lot of work, stage 2+, 270hp and it was a beast. even did the clutch job too haha. ended up having to sell her when it hit some major fluke mechanical issues. Highly considering an older gen Mini r53 or r56, struggling to decide which I like more though. The odd ball factor of having a super charger sounds awesome, the whine, the quirkiness, but I don't know how tunable the r53s are. I know the r56 handles power well enough

This will not even get you to 250 at the crank. You will need different cams (catcams), 550cc injectors and maybe even a BVH to get up to the 250hp at the crank

What kinda power are you running? Used to own an R60 stage 2+ and loved it. considering a r53/56 soon but can't decide and don't know how the r53s tune. The r56 and r60 have same engine so I know that side of it, like the odd ball factor of r53 with the supercharger and all
@jackmcallister91499 ай бұрын
@@bowenchristiansen5783 I love mine. They use a different engine platform. R56 n14/n18s are great for tuning but are shit with reliability and high power. R53s have the W11 tritec engine cast iron block so they can withstand some good power. I’ve got full exhaust system, racing manifold, 380cc injectors, 17 % reduction pully and a tune and man is that thing fun and relatively reliable keeping in mind the stuff done to it. It’s around 240-255 to the wheel right now. And I’m looking into a ported head to get some additional power. I am missing some suspension upgrades but minis stock “sport” suspension is relatively decent and does the job. I would highly recommend an R53 if your looking for a fun little tuner that can keep up with some m3s in the turns.

Absolutely love mine I’ve had 3 super slept on reliable cars that are easy to tune up. I would only ever want 04-05 though
@Wornk Жыл бұрын
It’s just like any other car, you take care of it and give it a little Italian tune up every once in a while and it’ll really go forever. I’ve got an 03 with a whole bunch of stuff done to it with a 141k on the clock and it’s been a peach my entire ownership, I’ve had it for about 6 years. I have a bone stock 06 with about 225k on it and she purrs like a kitten, a tiny bit of faded clear coat and foggy headlights but nothing to complain about on a high mileage daily. The real concern is after 2006… my 2015 roadster is a different story, it’s had its issues and all of them have been very well known about. But still has yet to fail to get from point a to point b (115k miles). They are ALL S models as well, both r53s with the supercharged W11 and the roadster with the N18.

@zokusharuuku1091 Жыл бұрын
Actually a lot of the oil pan leaks were actually front main leaks from the crank pulley on the passenger side, and rear main seal+cv axel seal on the back side and crank position sensor o ring on the front side of the engine. I know from experience, it looks like it’s from the oil pan but it’s really not. Had to replace all of those seals, oil pan is fine.

This won't make 250 hp. Not even close. The factory first gen S was 168 hp. If you do all this in this vid, plus port the heads, throw the most aggressive cam in there you can find, 440cc injectors, and a remap, and you MIGHT be close to 250. You can make 250-275 with a big valve head pretty easy but it's hard to get there without it.
