Very nice adaptation of the bridge at Monet’s Giverny. You even had a very close color mixed. Kudos! All the steps you took & jigs were clearly shown. An experienced woodworker should be able to understand how to build it following your video. To those who wanted dimensions: bridges are sized as needed. Great job, great video. Thanks!

I had to Google Monet's Giverny. Hahahaa! Great job. I think I may take this project on.

great attention to detail, including good footings on either side of the stream. I do want to know how you pre-bent all the pieces. Steam box or just weighted down out in the rain for a few weeks?
@rudijones3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. the curved pieces are made from multiple bendable pieces laminated together similar to a lvl beam.

Exactly what I had in mind! Good job man!

The jig you build to make all the bent laminations, how did you fair the large curve? When you made the clamp brackets are they angled to match the angle or were they just cut square?
@rudijones4 жыл бұрын
Pat M clamp brackets follow the curve of the beam.

Was those 12 foot 2x4 you split?
@clydehunt44055 жыл бұрын
What lumber did you use to make your strips you laminated? 2x6?
@rudijones5 жыл бұрын
Clyde Hunt - cut 5/4 cedar decking 2” wide. Bent them along the 1” dimension to create an 8” x 2” beam.

Very well done but I have to ask, why did you simply not put the posts on the outside of the bridge?. That way it keeps the full width accessible, apart from that great job. I like the colours actually (but not the rather weird bracing side pieces) and can see how much time you’ve put into it. Thank you for sharing.

Kerry Bolton thanks for the comments! It’s supposed to look like Monet’s garden bridge in Giverny. If you google it you’ll see why I built it this way.
