@@PampaPampa- I just checked out your villages tour videos and I'm curious as to how you play the game. Do you still manage the villagers ? Do you place them according to their workplace and everything ? It feels like you're playing kinda like in a creative mode, do you build a "functionnal" village first to unlock everything then start building a "pretty" village ?

Thanks for the inspiration with the homesteads. This will definitely help my friend and me when we'll rebuild our village. In my opinion it's completely fine to start with a grid based layout for resource gathering, leveling your workers and unlock the recipes. When you have enough you have more freedom in "planing" the unplaned :D

You're absolutely welcome, glad it's helped inspire you! Yeah I said in the video I think about how grids are great from a convenience and logistics point of view (or maybe I cut that, can't remember now ha) but from purely an aesthetic and realistic pov I think they should be largely avoided imo!

Thank you for such a great video, one wish I have for the game is maple syrup! all those maple trees makes me wonder why there isn't that in the game
@PampaPampa-15 күн бұрын
You're welcome! And the simple answer is that maple syrup was almost certainly discovered by the indigenous tribes of North America and therefore only discovered by European settlers around the 15th century so about 3-500 years after Medieval Dynasty takes place. Maple syrups popularity, I'd argue even today, is also mainly centralised around Canada and the US. We obviously can get it here in Europe, but I don't know of anywhere that it's commonly or widely used and available anywhere near like it is across the pond. So, from the games perspective, it just wouldn't make any sense from any point of view to have it in there!

Thanks for the amazing video. I loved it. I struggle to plan things out as you showed as I play with buildings locked at start. Thus, it's hard to plan out a marketsquare.. and when you reach it your town has developed mostly. So i prefer to develop my town step by step, let it grow organically. However, at a point this might mean destroying buildings and rebuilding an area
@PampaPampa-19 күн бұрын
You're welcome, thanks for watching! Yeah I understand that, I'll be touching on this in the next episode but what tend to do is build sort of a temporary town in a nearby area initially whilst I unlock everything. Once everything is unlocked I then start planning out the proper town!

@@PampaPampa- I understand that approach. To me it feels unhistoric, and it is more immersive to start as a tiny village and then growing slowly but steadily. I like the roleplay more in this regard

Good video but it seems like planning a nice town would be impossible until everything is all unlocked. I would much prefer it if you did a video on how to plan a nice video while you're actually playing the game and unlocking things in stages. For example an early game nice settlement where you dont have a town square, how can you prepare for one etc.
@PampaPampa-17 күн бұрын
I do mention this at the start of the video that it's difficult to show my full process as the video would be so long. It takes a long time to properly plan them out. In the next episode I'm going through a few different options to work around this issue though.

I'd wish for a future patch to add a plan mode, best from birds eye perspective. I'm not really good in planning a town horizontally so that would help a lot. Rn I'm in oxbow year 4, building a separate mining village left to Ostoya on the small river with the waterfall. Beautiful place, I'll definitely build my main town there next time! Also if I could ask for a real important update...I'd wish for gender locked houses. Like for 2 or 3 men living together until I move them in with a lady. I always end up having a huge baby boom after 3 years bc I can't just build double the houses to keep it under control 😅 if they add this one day I'll be a happy lil bugger ❤

No idea I'm afraid. The only 'mod' that I'm aware of is the one mentioned in the video about increasing the build limit. Otherwise, the devs haven't made the game moddable, so I suspect probably not.

When I'm starting out, I don't have access to many buildings, and I have trouble visualizing how big the later buildings are and how much space I should leave. In the video, you had access to all of the buildings already. What do you suggest when you don't have that access? Thanks for the vids!

Very great tips, thank you. Kind of annoyed I hadn’t gotten to this sooner. After watching this, I’m heavily considering moving my whole town. Dangit. I do have constructive criticism of your video though, I mean no offense: If you can, make sure to stay very well hydrated while recording the voice over so that you don’t include the sticky, tacky mouth sounds while you’re speaking. It just gets extremely distracting after a while. Sure, there’s likely free programs that can eliminate that, and of course the paid versions will be much better, but it’s just easier to not capture the mouth sounds to begin with. Other than that, wonderful video!
