Medieval Dynasty Homestead Building Order - Level 1 Settlement

In this Medieval Dynasty video, i show you how and where to build a great starter village right at the beginning of the game. I show you which buildings to build, and when. This will help you with the tough decisions of deciding between buildings early on when resources are scarce. If you follow this entertaining guide, you will know exactly which order to build them in, and be all good to go.
Medieval Dynasty is a three-dimensional simulator in the convention of action RPG with elements of survival and strategy created by Polish studio Render Cube. This is the second production of the Lodz team and completely different from its debut project: Monster League go-kart racing game from 2018. This time the Poles created a realistic production set in the Middle Ages, reminiscent of the Czech Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The game is also another part of the Dynasty cycle of Toplitz Productions, although clearly different from its predecessors.

I noticed - and liked! - the way you 'edited' all your walls before you actually built them! This is a great idea, as it's easy to forget to do this and you can end up with a silly-looking house made of a mixture of stone and wattle walls, which is also much less efficient in terms of heat-retention. Good idea! :D

nice vid! not many beginner vids out there. If this was availalbe before I started playing this would have been very helpful. One of the biggest issues when recruiting is having the food storage and the resource storage as villagers take their food and firewoood from those buildings (currently) and will get very unhappy fast if you son't have their needed resources. I ran out of firewood/logs/sticks in the middle of winter and they all got very unhappy very quickly..

@@Dare_To_Game i had some logs on hand and i managed to get catch it, but they were all at 10% it only took a few mins to drop that low. - I was lucky I was in my village and had logs to quickly craft into firewood. The amount of firewood needed with no upgraded housing/daub was running me to 70 a night.

You can store over the cap of the resource storage the things produce will just overflow into their respective chests. If you want to build there anymore, your gonna have to build the workshop first or find yourself a shovel, cause you can't build ontop stumps anymore.

Yeah. I like that we have to clear stumps now, for realism sake, but it is a minor inconvenience.

@@Dare_To_Game I like that you can clear stumps, and that you get a log when doing so, but I wish they either made it so clear able objects disappeared if you build where it is, or that you could place a wireframe where you want the building, but couldn’t build it until you cleared everything within it’s footprint. IMO one of these is desperately needed, largely because buildings ghosts are so close to you that it can be impossible to see which tree or stump is blocking the placement, especially on the larger buildings

Great tips man. Only caveat is if you are on the open beta version of the game then you cant make the 3rd tier house from the start as you need a new resource called planks first. Planks are made from logs at the woodshed so you need to get that first. What I did was make everything out of stone except the roof then when I unlocked the Woodshed I upgraded the roof.

i build my settlement inbetween the starter settlement and another one near a huge amount of Reed so i never get problems its also a good big forest near and it has many animals wich is probaply the best spot for a village in this game

Food and resource storage you can put in over what they hold. NPCs won't put anything in above the limit though. The rest of the other buildings cap storage seems to hold true.

You need a shovel to clear stumps now. I had to make a workshop to make a shovel to clear space for food storage. I also needed to make woodshed for planks (and roof if I want better quality)for a washtub. So that took my first four.

@@Dare_To_Game with the updates changing things so much you might need to state what version you are covering so people can see if their version matches. Otherwise it can be confusing. Oh and now hoes don't plow a field it immediately turns into unploughed field and you need manure to fertilize then plow. I know from real life it should be possible without fertilizer (just maybe lower yields until soil quality degrades but crop rotation addresses that as well.

The storage limit of a chest in in the bottom right of the chest interface. House chests have 50kg, the resource storage has 300kg, the equivalent of 6 houses.

Planks are stolen from Gostovia, obviously. Stealing planks is the only way to get them early in game as you need tech for production and they are not sold by anyone. BTW, for tier 3 roof you'll need to use quicksave/quickload to respawn stealable planks as there are simply not enough of them. One good advice is to steal a shovel too, as it will get you 1 extra log per tree (from uprooting stumps).

Was it the middle option? Between sticks & planks there’s another choice… The “wooden tile roof” in the video looks like thin wooden shakes. But it required 3 logs per section. so it was doable by axe in hand back then? No woodshed required. …it’s called “pause”…. Look into it? 2:18 So you know what you’re commenting on before commenting…? Shakes were cut carefully by hand with axes long before machinery was made to cut them. This game mechanic fast-forwards us to a shake roof without the fuss of a step or station to cut them from logs.

I’m new to this game. Does the house type impact the mood or attitude of your villagers? I just got my first villager. Also, my first villager has low numbers, do their sets improve and if so are there ways that you can improve their stats?

If you assign them to an area and they work in it, i believe their skill increases over time. As far as the house, the higher level the house, the more people can fit in it, and the better materials, the less firewood it takes to heat.

Better houses improve your workers moods, but their mood doesn’t seem to have any effect, at least as of now. I assume the plan is to have it be a modifier that increased/decreases worker effectiveness at their jobs

I think the idea should be, and what I hope the devs are planning is, crafters/miners/lumberjacks put what they get/make into their workplace storage and then the worker assigned to resource storage collects from the workstations and puts it into the resource storage building.
