I think this is awesome, screw all the haters. In all honesty , the dude really didnt wreck anything, or put all that many holes in the wall, the entire set up can be taken down in a few hours with little damage to walls, all u would have to do is cover the holes and add a fresh coat of paint and it would be as good as new.

@sarahdell40425 жыл бұрын
This can all easily be reversible, with minimal work to patch up any holes. I own multiple rentals, trust me. This guy is the least of your concerns.
@sarahdell40425 жыл бұрын
CoLew Exactly. Usually the people who put a lot of work into the living space, are the easiest to deal with. I used to own multiple rentals, but it became too much of a hassle. Even with a property manager, etc. Not for me!
@atariks14754 жыл бұрын
Are u not allowed to make reversible changes to your flat or apartment in US or Canada? In Germany your landlord can't tell u to not do this kind of stuff. If it's not a permanent build or endanger the overall safety of the building u can do that.
@rbaleksandar4 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. Sure, there are a couple of holes here and there but nothing that can't be easily fixed. Most of the construction is on the wood. Now if it was the other way around that would be a problem!

Nice video. thanks. 2 quick tips for finding studs if you have baseboards and no stud finders: remove the baseboard and hammer some small nails in every 1.5 inches until you find it. The holes will be hidden by the baseboard once you nail it back. The other tip is via electrical outlets. They are always mounted next to a stud, so you can unscrew the cover and figure out on which side it's located. Then measure 16 inches for the next one.
@frankw88767 жыл бұрын
Even though I have three of the electronic one, I found best is neodymium magnet as sheetrock screws don’t penetrate below the outer paper surface. To prevent hold rotation, maybe a little silicone caulk on the backside to add friction - let it dry for reuse later. Most of the time Phillips head screws are fine, just predrilled and use an impact driver. Nice wall, hope the landlord don’t mind.

Great build! I love the angles - you've got a little bit of everything to keep your wall interesting for a long time. As far as set screws go, it's only a minor inconvenience if your holds don't come with pre-drilled holes for screw placement. Often the simplest approach to prevent a hold from spinning is to just wedge a secondary hold (usually just a foot chip) against the primary hold along the axis of rotation. This will lessen the need for set screws in general, which will keep your wall free of unnecessary screw holes.
@natearch804 жыл бұрын
The quickest way to find a stud is to look at an outlet. There will be a stud on one side of the outlet. Once you find the stud use a tape measure and extend it making sure that a 16 inch number is on that stud.

@michaelwilkens68657 жыл бұрын
Another method to get smells out of mattresses is an ozone generator. You can get one from Amazon for $70. This is what hotels use to get cigarette smoke out of rooms, & for getting smoke damage smell out of a house after a fire. I bought and used one for a car bought from a heavy smoker. It works great. They need to be used in a closed room/space. You set a timer, let it do its thing, then you have to let the space air out before returning. You don't want to breathe this stuff in the levels it takes to get smells out of fabric. Read manufacturers directions.

just letting everyone and you know, in order to be safe from oganic fumes, you will need a charcoal filter mask (not the one used in the video). That one is for particles only and organic fumes will mostly be composed of gases instead of particles

@robertsonr17 жыл бұрын
MaryNAdam I do. Being a landlord and having to repair the damage comes out of our pocket. The tenants usually don't cover it. Requiring the land lord to raise prices for future tenants. So when you ask who cares. Renters paying higher prices and landlords should care.

It isn't that easy for everyone. I'm thankful this is up. My husband and I are getting ready to start a family and being a mom makes getting to the gym tough (assuming we have one available).
