Hi! That's right I built a home climbing wall! With a new lockdown in the UK I decided it was time to commit! So here's the video of me building a home climbing wall and of course climbing on it!
I hope you are all ok and staying safe! Hopefully, we will be out of lockdown soon and we can all go climbing again!
(Also sorry about the clickbait! I haven't had a chance to take a proper photo of the wall without rain)
Let me know what you think of the video!

Few tips for your next one: many timber/builders merchants have panel saws, and can cut your ply to size when you order it (plus you often only pay for what you use!) Use a circular saw when cutting plywood, if you want a straight cut. You can stack and cramp the sheets and cut multiple simultaneously if needed. Get a cordless impact driver for setting. Good effort though, keeping after it in lockdown 💪

If you're ever in need of plywood I highly recommend finding a local builders merchant or timber yard - it's so much cheaper than B&Q and usually much better quality!

I'm considering making a home wall and am wondering about weather management: Did you stain the wood, and how do you protect it from the rain? Your home wall looks super cool
@JoshRundle
@JoshRundle 3 ай бұрын
Nice!!! I didn’t treat the wood but I bought some big tarpaulins to cover it, which worked for a bit but it still got wet. I think for long term solutions the best thing to do is build a roof for it. Mine was only a short term board for lockdown

@@JoshRundle Actually you seem to pull off the shaved look quite well which is fairly unusual. Anyway, I’m just teasing mate, the wall looks decent enough and climbing in climbing at this point. I made my own wall a little while ago but have been too injured to use it so far which is infuriating!

Do you know Emil Abrahamsson? He uploaded a video about Hangboard Training a few days ago. It is called Hangboard Training 2 Times Per Day For 30 Days, and he made a training schedule based on a scientific article called: "Minimizing Injury and Maximizing Return to Play: Lessons from Engineered Ligaments". Have you watched that? What do you think of that of that Training method? I think I will give that a try :) Would be awesome if you could share your opinion
