@@WalkersWoodworks I was a cabinet builder most of my life so I have done numerous styles , but here lately I've been drawn to this style that is in this video , to me for some reason it give more of a less manufacturer look and more of a hand crafted feel which is very pleasant to the eye .👊😊🤙

@@chrisvanderwielen1530 Table Top Fastener. Also referred to as Z-clips. You can install them with the biscuit joiner by cutting a slot into the inside of your apron and then the clips seat inside the slot and screw into the underside of the table top.

Looks awesome, great work! So the expresses were glued in place, no other connection necessary? Came out great, I’m not sure I’d be confident in getting such an accurate cut! I guess I could sneak some pocket hole screws in the back side of it?

i like the chamfer. I use it on most of my projects too. How did you like that sander? i hear it is a close to the Festool but much cheaper.
@WalkersWoodworks
@WalkersWoodworks 5 жыл бұрын
I love the sander. It's actually more than festool though. This is the Mirka Deros 6". It's the nicest, smoothest, most comfortable, balanced sander I've ever used.
@kylewalker6846
@kylewalker6846 5 жыл бұрын
This is nice. It's rustic but clean and modern looking at the same time. How did you account for wood movement in the piece though (the legs being part of the table top and those X brackets being glued to the top and bottom shelf specifically)? Again, nice build. Regards!
@WalkersWoodworks
@WalkersWoodworks 5 жыл бұрын
I guess time will tell. The movement from a piece only this large shouldn't be a ton. But this is mine so I can keep an eye on it and see what happens over time.

Going to preface this by saying I'm a novice woodworker that hasn't experimented with a lot yet, just watched videos while I'm getting my workshop set up. My question is regarding the x braces and only gluing them on. As I understood it, gluing on an end isn't very strong, is there a chance these could just pop out? I know it's likely they won't recieve any contact, just thought I'd ask. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity!
@WalkersWoodworks

Yea it's more just a visual aspect than structural. It should be fine unless someone kicks it or something haha.
