DistroKid is awesome and well worth the price for all the features they have. One thing I do wanna mention with this particular strategy though is that 12 dollars a year adds up. If you got 10 covers you want licensed, that's $120 a year you're adding on to your DistroKid subscription so choose the covers you wanna upload carefully and strategically.

I have a serious question my mate! So when it comes to my sound as a artist should I find one or two producers and just stick to them and their beats or does it matter cause I don’t want my sound all over the place I need to build a solid foundation first before go in a bunch of different directions
@Keeakev5 жыл бұрын
Best way is to stick to a few producers. I wouldn't let that stop you from creating though; make the music you want to if you find a good sound! But it will definitely give you some cohesiveness if you work with the same couple of producers. That's what I've found at least

this can be use to a remix too? If a make a remix (just take the instrumental and drop a freestyle on it) can I say to spotify system it is a cover?
@justderek35845 жыл бұрын
This would not be considered a cover. A cover is not the beat itself. A cover is when you perform the lyrics of a song. An example could be me singing Mario’s “Let Me Love You” but playing a different melody that was not in the original song.

Soo is it the same for remixes or can you even use those without the beat license?
@justderek35845 жыл бұрын
If you kept the same hook, but gave your own verses, this would be considered a new song. It’s a remix, not a cover, which is you performing a body of work already created. If you wanted to make it different, I would suggest, performing the work, over a new beat.
@Vaultdweller1175 жыл бұрын
Just Derek soo you cant legally put up a remix then? I know some people do and get away with millions of views so just seems confusing like with the black and yellow beat for example
